How do you eat your pizza?

They show John Kasich eating a slice of pizza with a fork and knife cutting it into bit size pieces in queens.

People said he should not be president because of it. I agree he is a barbarian

But people do eat different kinds of pizza different ways

I don't even order a pizza in a restraunt. I am not going to mess up an expensive suit by eating a pizza.

When I order a pizza I eat it at home. I wear an old t shirt just in case. Or an old fashion sleeveless under shirt. I even remember noticing I had a good shirt on and took it off before I started to eat it.

So what do you guys do.

Kasich is a mamaluke. I agree with you, who eats a slice with a fork? Oh wait, Mayor DeBlassio does.I rest my case! I like take out or delivery and eat it at home too with some cold BudLights. I usually don't spill it on me Foots, so I don't know how you are chowing it down buddy! lol

I am not carefull when I eat at home.

Remember Saturday Night Fever travolta orders 2 slices and folds both up at the same time and eats them while trying to pick up women and carrying a can of paint. Haha

Foots what, if any, do you put on your pizza? Crushed red peppers. Garlic salt, salt?

If you are in public,it makes sense to eat pizza with a knife and fork.
Oh, and I'm not Italian, but you guys have probably figured that out by now.

My favorite pizza is a Scilician or an old fashion. I buy it with a lot op toppings but they are on the side. I like extra sauce, extra cheese and meatballs.

But I buy the other toppings for others who like other things on it.

Oh I don't like it when it's super hot. So I have it later.

I told my doctor it seems to lower my high blood pressure. He said he will prescribe pizza to his other patients with high blood pressure. My boodpressure is terrific now.

Get, do you also eat a candy bar with a knife and fork like George on Seinfeld? LOL There is nothing better than taking a slice and folding it and eat it while insuring that the oil, cheese and sauce doesn't fall on you or on the plate.

My favorite is deep dish and Chicago-style. For that you have to use a knife and fork, but for regular pizza it's hands all the way.

I do like Sicilan pies. Deep dish Chicago-style is on a league of its own! That's some serious Pizza that does require a fork and knife and it's simply amazing. I don't know about you guys but this conversation is having me crave Pizza!

Over here in CA I gotta hold my nose with my left hand and use my right hand to eat. The slice sticks out straight like it's made of cardboard. There's no grease dripping down either. Nobody knows how to make a good slice. Maybe Cortina's in Anaheim. And I did recently try TJ's pizza which is pretty good but nothing and I mean nothing beats NY pizza, sorry Chicago ppl.

When I'm in Jersey or NY, I fold it and eat it. Yum, it's soooo GOOD!! Then I lick the grease dripping down the side of my mouth. GOOD stuff

I think if your going to eat pizza with a knife you should use a button knife.

People now call button knives a switch blade.

When I was a kid we called them a button knife. Press a button they open.

My friend Donnie had a switch blade. It was a knife that you could actually switch blades. One was a straight blade that they call now a stelletto blade. That's bull shit a stelletto blade was a kind of swiggly blade.

You could buy a button knife back in the old days in any NYC candy store like 8 inch blade for 8 dollars.

If I had to eat a pie today I would wear knock around cloths and stab a slice with a button knife.

We talked about this before when I was a kid and we had a lot of family members over the house to eat for a Holliday. Where you had a lot of courses. It was a marathon meal.

When you got full you would open up your pants while sitting at the table. To make more room to eat more. We all have done that right except for the ladies.

With my hand, unless it is a deep dish, then I use a fork or cut the slice into or three, then use my hands.
Alfonsogirl, if you are ever in Ventura CA, hit up Tony's, it's a small place near the brewery, it's been there forever, another is Sasso Cucino, near the waterfront. Those are two I can think of down in the LA area close to New York style, ever since Dom's and Josephine closed down in LA, at the turn of the century.

I'm eating pizza with my hand in this momento with my friends. Its 22.34 cheers guys and emember the neapolitans eat pizza with hand bende like a wallet or in 4 pieces.

Then some of his supporters counterattacked by noting that in Italy, they eat pizza with knife and fork.

I like Stromboli, my favorite way to eat pizza

I pick up a slice with my hand, and then pick off a piece of topping or cheese with my fingers to give to my dog. I do this so automatically that if I'm eating pizza in a restaurant I pick off little pieces of stuff and hold them out for a second before remembering and popping them into my own mouth.

I don't pick off the top, I most definitely don't fold. I get right down to business, pick up the piece and eat. No fork needed.

I grew up with homemade pizza. My mom would make bread and enough dough for a pizza dinner. Always thick Sicilian pizza. When I was a teenager I finally had store brought pizza. I was so amazed at how paper thin it was. I always liked to have anchovies on my pizza but most people don't like them so I'm kind of use to having pizza without.

Oh, and while we're talking pizza, two things that don't belong on pizza IMO, is ham or pineapple. I like them both but NOT on pizza.

A-Girl, you're right. NOTHING beats NY pizza (except my mom's) . I am use to pizza out here in CA. We had a Graziano's where I use to live and it was pretty good. But nearest me now is Domino's.

This is a true story I just moved to Brooklyn and bough my first house. I was around twenty. Which was over 50 years ago.

I go across Flatbush ave to buy a pie to bring home. While I am waiting a livery cab drivers pulls up to buy a slice. It's a working stiff black guy. There were a bunch of punk white kids hanging out in the place. There playing video game and listening to the juke box.

In those days guys would offer money to redo the pizza place. All the owner had to do was let them put the video games in the place. The guys collected all the money the video game made. It was a good deal for the owner. He needed no up front money to redecorate the place.

Except you had a bunch of punks hanging out in the store all day long.

Any way there is like 8 or more kids hanging out.

They started to bother the black guy. So I told the kids why don't you leave the guy alone. He is just buying a slice not doing anything wrong.

Then they start on me for siding with him. The owners said nothing to them. They they called me a N lover. I hit the ring leader I throw him over the counter. Took the pizza cuter and opened up his face. Now they are all in shock the black guy left.

I told them I don't want to see them in this place any more. If I do I will cut them up too.

I stopped going in there after that.

The most interesting part of your story was that you bought a house when you were 20. How'd you manage that at 20?

It was a two family house on east 37 street near ave L near Flatbush ave. I put 15 thousand down I bought it for 42 thousand. It must sell now for over 500 or 600 thousand.

Teamsters were on strike. Scab drivers were making deliveries. Nicky a friend and I were sent to keep the trucks from making deliveries to my favorite shopping mall. We did that, but they kept comming. Then we were told to hijack the trucks. That is how I got the money to put down on the house.

The crust is a waste of time. I avoid the crust...so I can get more slices down.

Alfa I like the crust. That's like desert built into the Pizza.

Like any normal person i pick it up and eat it.

A-Girl, you oughta check out Tony's Little Italy in Placentia off of Placentia Avenue. They have a Chicago Deep Dish that rivals anything you can get from Chicago, and their thin crust pizza is top notch, as well.

Angelo's and Vinci's, off of Chapman and Harbor in Fullerton, also makes a pretty damn good pizza, as well.

But you're right, good pizza joints are few and far between 'round these parts. There are a few, though!

LOL, yes it is. And they are going bananas these days with garlic crusts and whatnot.

I will eat the crust if I have one or two slices. But if you have a whole pie to yourself.......

I prefer deep dish or a good pan pizza if they do it right. Sadly all we have here are the normal chains, Little Ceasars (garbage) Domino's (garbage) and Pizza Hut (ok). I do like the stuffed crust and pan from Pizza Hut but of course I would love a "real" pizza. We have a good Italian place about 30 miles from here where I get my spaghetti and stromboli from. I could get sick eating it stromboli style.

Then you hear one of the ladies tell the men, here, have some anisette, it will settle your stomach.

TIS I've been up by you for my nephews team parties at Graziano's. The pizza isn't bad. That's a fun place too for the kids.

XDCX I've been to all the places you've mentioned and they just don't taste enough like the pizza I'm used to eating. I'm very particular about my pizza.
Angelo and Vinci's is a fun place, I like the atmosphere. That Tony's pizzeria in Placentia lol my Dad called him up to tell him to take his sign down cuz his pizza tastes nothing like NY Little Italy pizza. He actually called the guy up to tell him that.

Years ago there was Brooklyn Pizza Works on Imperial/Rose in Placentia. That place was really good in the early 80's. We'd go there but now I don't know who owns it. Mamalukes (Mammalucco's) in Brea on Imperial hwy near Trader Joe's is a pretty good pizza joint, set up like the pizza parlors back east with all the pics on the wall and red/white table cloths. The owner is from Brooklyn, nice guy. De Luca's in La Habra/Whittier area was good. They were from Newark but I think it changed owners recently. Last year I tried Napoli pizzeria in downtown Disney, pretty good pizza. At Vid Con last year, I tried TJ's and that was probably thee best pizza I've had in OC.

Not sure what Mamalukes has to do with eating pizza, but the "trailer" was great. The star was in "Goodfellas", the guy who bought the pink cadillac. I also think Johnny Red from "Donnie Brasco" was in it.
