this is HILARIOUS.

"does this mean the drought is over?"....... lol

I held back laughing until that part, because of the drought..but that made it ok to laugh...

The earthquake part is absolutely true.

Yeah, that's what we were hoping, that we would get enough rain to help us out of the drought, but not yet.

I think the biggest problem for Californians when it rains is that people don't seem to understand that you're supposed to slow down when you drive in the rain.

lol lol AND to top it off, my hair got wet. Oh man, now the frizzies.

We need the rain. I really don't mind. I read only to get to 67 today. WHAT??? WTF. I'll freeze my ass off. Ha ha ha

I was in LA two weeks ago and let me just say, you Californians can keep that city. The traffic alone...holy crap. And does everyone in that town just make up their own driving laws?

I'm NOT in LA but ALL California does this (at least SoCal):

A car is broken down on the freeway pulled over off the street, out of the way. The freeway, going BOTH ways (even if it's a divided freeway with a cement divider)comes to a halt. I swear to God. We call them looky-loos. lol You literally can crawl for an hour or more than suddenly, you pass the car to side of the road, and traffic flows again. That is so annoying. mad

Oh, and here in CA, pedestrians/bicyclist have all kinds of rights. Like X said, don't get me started. lol

lol So true ^^^^ to all the above comments. Ivy must have felt as though he entered the Twilight Zone.

Have you ever come across the serious cyclist who thinks he can stay in the regular car lane and WON'T MOVE to the side? It's not my fault they don't have a bike lane on every road for these people. I come across these cyclists all the time. I'm like Ok guy the speed limit is 50 how the hell are you going to go that fast? I'm honking and gesturing to him to get out of my way and he's making hand signals that he's gonna turn left. Great, thanks a lot buddy.

How about when you get to a 4 way stop? Do you become the Ok You Go person? You go, your turn. lol Nobody knows how to work a stop sign.

Ha ha Driving here when it rains lol we didn't even talk about that yet lol

Lord, help us.

A-Girl, MORE than once I've had a cyclist in the left turn lane ahead of me, turning on on arrow. I can't believe they get away with it. uhwhat

Yes, 4 way stops, NOBODY knows what to do.LOL I'm ok with bike lanes BUT I always wonder why, if there's a sidewalk, they cyclists don't just ride on the sidewalk, especially on a very busy street? confused

Btw, on a sidenote, my grandaughter's 8th grade class will be going to DC/NY/PHilly in May. I told her, NY is NOT CA. You don't assume the driver will wait for you to cross and I told her to always double check for cars coming because, unlike CA they'll run your ass over. lol Well I didn't phrase it quite that way. wink Not to mention they'll lay on their horn if you get in their way. ha ha ha So different than layback CA.

I work in Irvine, and the other day I was driving home on the 55-N, and at 8:30 in the morning, there is very little northbound traffic on the 55. Yet as soon as I transitioned from the 405 to the 55, it was gridlocked, bumper to bumper. So I'm thinking to myself "Hm...must be an accident." Sure enough, about 2 or 3 miles down, I see an ambulance and a couple CHP's pulled onto the median, with a wrecked motorcycle being loaded onto the cab of a truck. Now I don't know any other details about the accident, or if the driver was okay, but I do know this: NO lanes were blocked because of the accident, everything that was going on was INSIDE THE MEDIAN! And yet traffic was backed up for 3 miles. Why? Because of those goddamn lookie-loos!

As soon as we passed the crash site, the freeway was empty!

Oh yeah, the looky-loos can drive you up the wall. Seems like there'a always an accident near the Magnolia offramp, Goldenwest gets its share, and near where the 405 turns into the 5 just past Irvine. Compare that with driving in Chicago or the East Coast. You could be bleeding on the side of the road and they keep on racing by.

And THEN if it RAINS on top of the stalled car incident ! OMG!!! What might have added an hour more to your trip is doubled. lol Might as well camp out in your car. lol lol
