Maya Angelou passed away

Maya Angelou just now passed away.

Very sad, but she certainly had a full life. A remarkable woman. RIP .

I had the pleasure of attending one of her lectures about 15 years ago. She's a first-class literary figure, who gave us a poetic vision of life from the bottom up. Her works will be read in high schools and universities forever.

I LITERALLY just gave several copies of a book as gifts for Mother's Day.

High on the Hog:A Culinary Journey from Africa to America ...she wrote the foreword.

When she read her poem at President Clinton's inauguration, she was the first poet since Frost read a poem at Kennedy's inauguration back in 1961. Amazing thinker. RIP.
