Merry Christmas to all. Our little elves got their last minute instructions from Santa. This is their 4th Christmas. Everyday with them is a Christmas present. For any newbies, these are my grandkid twins.

Wonderful picture. Late last week I played Santa Claus at my wife's business, a school and daycare facility. I had a ball with the kids as I always do, especially the toddlers and babies. But I paid a price, which was a nasty head cold with a nagging cough and sore throat that only started to break on Christmas morning. I'm still waiting for my voice to return.

I hope everybody had a happy Christmas, spent with loved ones.

Well, Christmas with the family was a delight. However, my grandgirls and my grandson are now young teenagers, so it's not the same as when they were little. However, maybe I just have to wait another decade or so for there to be greatgrandchildren.

In our family my youngest is 16, and I only have one nephew still young enough for Santa. Christmas reaches its highest level of delight when there are young kids around. On the opposite end my grandmother had Christmas dinner with us. It was her 100th Christmas.

Flove the Apple commercial! Spent Christmas Eve at my brother's and he and his wife made 7 fishes. Then we went to my in-law's for Christmas day. Very nice, but I did miss having little ones around.

Does 7 tuna fish sandwiches count? smile

Re: Merry Christmas!! - 12/28/13 03:05 AM

NO! LOL

We had shrimp, crab, lobster, flounder, anchovies, oysters and clams.

7 Fishes...

I made conch (scungilli) chowder, escargot*, seared tuna, seared scallops, sauteed langostino [with leftover compound butter from escargot]; served whitefish salad, and mom made shrimp scampi and bought crabcakes.

...*and a land snail

My family did stuffed squid pan seared in olive oil and garlic, butterflied smelts, bacala, shrimp arnaud, anchovy meatballs, fresh halibut and fried lobster tails with a big pot of sufrite. Nothing like an Italian Christmas!

Re: Merry Christmas!! - 12/30/13 03:16 PM

At my in-laws we didn't do the lobster this year, but my brother-in-law made crabcakes instead to go with shrimp scampi, angel hair in oil and garlic, filet mingnon and antipasto. I skip the antipasto. Because my mother-in-law and I are the only ones who like smelts, we haven't had them for a few years. I miss them.
