Buying Guns Online

Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 06:55 PM

First off, I hope this is allowed on this site.

Secondly, Hey guys I needed some information on purchasing a weapon online. I used to have an AK-47 WASR-10 Romanian. I enjoyed the hell out of shooting for fun (I live in Louisiana, Country boy at heart). I haven't been able to find any of them recently and have been looking online.

There are a few sites that offer to sale them to you then ship them to a gun dealer near where you live, but I have always conducted my gun purchasing business person to person.

I guess I'm just looking to see if there are any scams going on around like this, I don't want to drop 700 on a Rifle then have a toy shipped to me. Thanks in Advance!

Always better to buy a firearm in person but there are deals out there...just be careful who you deal with. Alot of scammers on gunbroker and the other gun sites. Look for someone with alot of good feedback.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 07:19 PM

I was looking at Centerfire Systems but I'm not sure how legit they are. Also I had bought my first AK in Baton Rouge but the place I had bought it at doesn't sale them anymore. It's either run the state looking for one or try online. My options are running thin.

LaLouisiane are you near the Red Jacket (Sons of Guns) gun shop? Will has some nice toys on that wall of his. Did the show get cancelled?

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 07:22 PM

Lol I'm not sure what happened to that show.

But I know they don't sale the regular weapons, they sale the ones that they "Modify" and all I want is a good Eastern European AK, they are the best ones on market.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 07:22 PM

And they are in Baton Rouge, I'm around Lafayette. Its about a 45 minute drive, not too bad.

I hear the Yugo ones are supposed to be pretty decent.

Your lucky you aren't here in NJ. You have no idea how tough it is around here when it comes to guns and the gun laws. Especially any gun they consider to be an assault rifle.

People around here flip out over that stuff..lol.

Its gotten A LOT tighter down here too. My biggest regret right now was ever selling it, because I don't kow if I'll ever be able to get another one.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 07:49 PM

Rock River Arsenal has a AR15 style rifle coming out in 7.62x39 real soon. The LAR-47. It's supposed to be pretty decent. They remade both the upper and lower receiver to take commie AK47 mags for reliable feeding.

Also an Israeli company called Silver Shadow has the Gilboa series of rifles. Real nice...i'd love to get me one of those double barreled Gilboa Snakes!

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 07:50 PM

LaLou you can try Acadiana Gunworks, Glenn from SoG opened up that shop and I think it is in Lafayette.

Also contact your local gun shops, most can give you an idea of companies that are legit so you wont get burnt. There is a place on the old Ft. McClellan here in state that sells them, not sure if online or not.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 08:13 PM

Wow Giancarlo, that rifle is ridiculous! Is it a one trigger where it pulls from each magazine every squeeze on the trigger?

Dixie: I just looked that place up, thanks. If they don't have it I'm not sure who the hell would.
Posted By: Giancarlo

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 08:22 PM

Yes...one pull of the trigger fires both barrel's. Which according to the ATF makes it unacceptable to import into the USA. The atf rules that if more then one bullet is fired with one trigger pull it is a full automatic weapon. Double barrel shotguns use 2 triggers...one for each barrel...but not this animal. With the Gilboa Snake one trigger fires both barrels.

Picture that thing in 7.62 NATO on full auto. It's available in semi auto and select fire but not here in the states for the reasons i said. cry

yes they cancelled the show "sons of guns'' last year after the sandy hook shooting, i believe they were a few other gun shows that got cancelled as well. never really saw the point in canceling a good show like sons of guns over some PC bullshit, they shouldve just taken it of the air for about a month out of respect the put it back on.

They cancelled a show in Louisiana because of something that happened in the Northeast. This shows the stupidity of the people that lead America regardless of political affiliation.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 09:53 PM

while all that nonsense talk of banning assault rifles was going on after sandy hook, i went out and got this baby.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

-my first assault rifle to go along with my remington 870 tactical shotgun and glock .45, and a snub-nose Taurous Judge revolver(which shoots both .45s and 410 shotgun shells)(which i have a permit to carry both). and as anyone from new jersey knows, i had to go through a lot of bullshit to get all of that.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/21/13 10:17 PM

Looks good Dellacroce....some sweet toys. cool wink

I was lucky enough to get my AR and AK's grandfathered in when the first ban went into effect back in the 1990's. Same with the 30+ round mags for them. Now the largest mags you can get here in NJ is 15 rounders. I haven't shot my rifles in years....these days me and a couple buddies go to the range around once a month but mostly just with pistols.

No they cancelled the American Guns show, the one about Gunsmoke in Golden Colorado. Sons of Guns is just in their offseason and WILL be back even though the acting and scripting in it is horrible now. Even though American Guns made you feel like a pedophile due to dude flaunting his trashy step daughter all over t.v. at least it showed them machining and making guns! SoG production is supposed to run until January then they should post an air date.

My best friend owned a Kimber 1911 at one point, can't remember the model #, but I would recommend a Kimber to ANYONE! Those bitches shoot sweet. Right now I carry a Sig Sauer P220, we can open carry in Alabama and I do that as well. Also am permitted for conceal carry too. We can buy permits up to 5 years at a time now. Also other pistols I've enjoyed were a H&K 9mm even though I hate 9's, it was also a sweet shooting gun.

As a former NJ gun owner, I'd be interested to know how you got a CCW in NJ (private security?), and where you shoot. I used to shoot at Ray's in North Plainfield, but it closed years ago.

i Have a lot of family in local law enforcement and they were able to push through the application for me, sometimes its all about who ya know wink. But i still had to go through all the "hoops",having a "justifiable reason to carry", getting fingerprinted, getting the application approved by the chief of police, but as I said, having family members on the job that personally knew the police chief made that a lot easier. without police in the family it probably wouldve been next to impossible for me to get the carry permit as it is for most people(except for private security, like you said). i shoot at a PBA range in Bayonne called called the "James Shea Memorial Range".

I have a Kimber PRO CDP II in .45 and must say that it is the smoothest gun I have ever owned or fired. Kimbers are expensive because they go into a lot of detail in manufacturing them. All sharp edges are smoothed over so as not to snag, trigger action is like butter. and it's competition ready. See if you can get an unregistered gun so that this current administration doesn't thy to confiscate it. By the way, my kimber was only $1200. I got my Glock for under $400 but that was ages ago. Good luck to you sir.

Re: Sons of guns- We were big fans of the show and after the school shooting we thought it was cancelled but were told by direct TV that it was just between seasons. We did also enjoy American guns too and that one was actually cancelled. Strangely, Rick- the main character of that show was originally from the same town as the school attack. I will do some checking to confirm my info about "sons"

You can order it online but it has to be sent to a FFL holder in your state where the sale will be recorded and the normal transfer of ownership paperwork is filed along with any backround check. You just can't order a gun on the net and have it sent to you unless you have a FFL (Federal Firearms License) at least as far as i know.

Some states do allow a person to person private sale without the usual paperwork but both the seller and buyer have to be residents of that state. Here in NJ everything has to go through a FFL holder.

Are you saying America is responsible for messing up the world??? Seems to me that Germany really fucked up the world back in 1942 and it took America to come in to save it at the cost of American lives. You got a lot of balls coming on an American blog and blaming us for messing up your world.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 11/22/13 10:46 PM

De Niro please learn our laws before you try and bash us. Made you look very very ignorant in that comment. Giancarlo hit it on the head. Bigboy said more than enough too.

Yea bigboy my best friends Kimber was around 1200-1400 but I forget for sure what the price was. It was a .45 chambered 1911 is all I remember and it was sweet. He had a Colt 1911 too that wasn't bad but I don't like the heel safeties on them.

Fixing to put some rubber grips on my Sig and see how they hold up. Going to get some Hogue grips and see how they shoot with the finger grips. I love how it shoots though.

My Godfather bought a .50 cal Desert Eagle not too long ago. Can't wait to play with it! Box of shells were over $35 and are pretty hard to find in these parts. Oddly enough he only gave $600 for it but I hear the previous owner didn't take good care of it.

I still want to original Colt 1911's like the A.E.F. carried in WWI.

Don't blame DE NIRO for what Germany did in WWII. He's really a Brit re-located to Germany. Maybe he's just mad that we kicked King George III on his ass back in 1775. tongue

The attack on Pearl Harbor made America join the WW2. America did not join just to save our ass. That´s just ridiculous to say. Hitler was defeated by a joint American/European effort and it was actually the Russians who broke through the last barriers around Berlin. All of the countries invovled with the second World War lost a lot of lives. More than you Americans can fathom. And De Niro is right...the world is messed up. That´s thanks to all war profiters...on both sides.

I had a couple Colt 1911's over the years. Pretty decent guns.

After the Terminator came out those longslide 45's were pretty popular...but i never had one.

My buddy and i had those Desert Eagles when they first came out except the ones we had were the .44's not the .50 cal. It was a little too big for me....definitely not a piece to carry around. But it was pretty cool to shoot.

I didn't know those Kimbers are made in NY...the company is based in Yonkers. Never knew that...i thought NY chased out all the gun manufacturers. They're supposed to be really nice guns.

But my go to gun is still my .357 revolver. Out of all the pistols i've owned over the years that is still my favorite. IMO the .357 magnum is the perfect handgun round for self defense. cool And being a revolver i can count on it going bang when i pull the trigger.

Dixie, if the previous owner didn't take good care of a .50 handgun, I'd stay about a mile away from it.

I have a Colt 1911 Combat Commander from the Eighties. Most accurate centerfire handgun I own. Only problem is that it's finicky about firing reloads--doesn't like copper-coated bullets. 1911 is the best military sidearm ever made.

i agree in principal, but just browsing through random gun forums over the years i find that's hardly the case. the thing is with any .50 cal handgun, be it a .50A/E or a .500S&W mag is that alot of the folks who buy them have no idea what they're gettting themselves into, and put a very low round count through them before deciding that they would be better served with something else. other than large predator defense, there is really little need for a handgun over .357/10mm imo!

Anyway i took a look around the site and it looks like for $599 you can get one of their Yugo AK's. I read on a gun forum that they're actually made here in the USA by Century Arms so check around and see what kind of feedback Century Arms have. There was a poster here...Father&Son (?) i think he went by and i think i remember him saying he had a permit to carry in NYC too. Or maybe it was a state permit...i'm not sure how that works in NY.

I was going to apply here in NJ for a carry permit but i never did. I really don't have a legit reason to get one and was told you have to have one. A guy i know owns check cashing places here in NJ and in Philly and he has a permit to carry in both PA and NJ. He told me it was a pain in the ass to get the one in NJ.

It really is, i was only able to get mine cause of family in local law enforcement. If your not private security its next to impossible to get one.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 12/07/13 09:28 PM

I read alot of states reciprocate with the carry permits. Like alot of guys in PA would apply in Florida because PA and Florida reciprocated and its supposed to be much easier to get the permit in florida. There was a big stink over it last year...i remember reading about it in the local papers. I'm not sure if NJ recognises any other state concealed carry permits though...but they may.

Re: Buying Guns Online - 12/07/13 09:49 PM

while there are a number of states that recognizes NJ's carrying permits-Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Vermont.

However, New Jersey does not recognize any out of state concealed carry permits.
