I subscribed to
L'Express, the French newsweekly. A couple of years ago, after Dominique Strauss Kahn was arrested in that sex case in NYC, they devoted an entire issue to "What Do the Americans Think of Us?" Of course, the French don't give a rat's ass what we think of them. The opening article thundered against American political mores: "Certainly the Americans have nothing to teach us about morality in politics" (loosely translated). They then went through a whole list of American political figures involved in public sex scandals, concluding with Anthony Weiner "...who sent over the Internet photos of
sa virilite triomphant..."
Isn't that a far more elegant way of saying "hardon"?
Gotta love the French language...
