it looks like this might be a fabrication, and the man in question might be a french man who has been living in vietnam for a long while.

This is definitely a hoax. All US servicemen have fingerprints on file, and if this guy were truly Robertson, it would have been confirmed before the film.

Brings to mind images of 100 year old Japanese crones living on a tiny Pacific atoll who have no idea WWII is over!!!!
