I love "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Whenever my daughters are around and IF that song comes on, we all tend to get giddy and dance around.
This one from 83, reminds me of being new here in CA and between working, finding sitters, and various other things, it became my personal theme song for a while. "She Works Hard For The Money", Donna Summer. Love it.
I was more into New Wave back then - B52s, Devo, Ramones, Squeeze, The Cars, The Police, Blondie. Pat Benatar was my idol. It was fun music that you could dance to without the douchiness of disco.

Strange thing: In the 80s I discovered long established musicians perhaps in their worst period. - Rolling Stones: Undercover of the night - Phil Collins: You can't hurry love - David Bowie: Let's dance - Elton John: I guess that's what they call is the blues etc.
He had a type of brain tumor in the 90s. He removed succesfully, but the rehabilitation was hard and slow. So he took medicine which eventually made him gain weight and caused some trouble in his singing. How ever I think he had the best performance ever in 2002 in the night of the proms. He left Foreigner in 2002 in bad terms with Mick Jones. However they are reuniting in a few months for the Songwriting Hall.
