Why do we do this?

I spend a lot of time playing games, reading books and watching films. Do you ever wonder why you spend so much time devoted to being in fantasy worlds?

Sometimes I feel like I am rejecting reality, it feels as if reality isn't good enough.This bothers me a bit, do any of you lot ever feel like this?

I guess,its to get away from reality.. I used to read alot but have not recently..

There is always an underlying truth in fiction and fantasy, so rather than it being a denial of reality, it is a good way to define it. Look at all the posts in this site about Why Michael could not have done this or that, or why something in the film(s) is/are a
mistakes or directorial license, how much the fiction of the Godfather Trilogy relates to the real mob, 9.e how Hyman Roth is based on Meyer Lansky.
