2008 Predictions

Well, it's almost time again to flip over the calendar to a new year. I wonder what those 12 months will hold in store for us. How about you? Any predictions?

Personally, I predict I'll make some New Year's resolutions that'll be broken by January 2nd.

Nationally, the price of gas will go above $4/gallon. The Red Sox will repeat as World Champions. Maybe not.

We're all going down.

Australia will become a nuclear power....unfortunately

I was talking to this guy who rolls his own cigarettes, and he told me that he buys a standard one ounce bag of tobacco for about two dollars a bag. He said if you roll them right, you can squeeze 200 cigarettes out of that. Of course, you still have to pay for rolling papers and whatnot, but I'm sure that it's cheaper than five dollars for a pack of twenty.

they are much cheaper yes and you can get more value for money with roll ups but i guess im to lazy to keep doing this.

When i was in OZ all i smoked was rollies.

Yeah... Rolling is more time consuming, and takes practice. But, if I ever came to the point of buying cigarettes on a regular basis, I'd probably just start rolling.

Have you ever seen the empty cigarette casings with a filter attached? You just pack the tobacco into the end and smoke it like a factory rolled cigarette.

Ive never seen them,but im sure there avalible in the UK.

They've started here already (although not as bad as in years past).

They've already started here also. They are saying that the authorities will really be cracking down this year in NYC and the boroughs.

Personally, I think that the city has gone a wee bit overboard by banning such simple things like Snappers and Sparklers. That's just totally ridiculous!

Yes Geoff. They've banned the use of Sparklers and Snappers within the City limits!

Mayor Adolph Bloomberg has really gone nuts!

Why Sparklers?

I'll be celebrating the 4th at a friend's house with several other families. He always gets his hands on large fireworks, the type that are set off at stadiums and public displays. He promises an even bigger display. The over/under on the arrival of the police is 10 minutes.

They have never allowed fireworks of any kind in my area of Califoria. Organized fireworks displays are allowed but not privately. However, do you think that stops some people? I always hear firecrackers throughout the evening. When my kids were little I would buy them sparklers, but that's about it.
