From the overall story, to Pacino's acting. To pretty much everything. I'll take 'Carlito's Way' ALL day. Anyone agree?

While I enjoyed Carlito's way very much, I can't say that I would take that movie over Scarface.

I can watch Carlito's Way every once in a while. However I can watch Scarface every time it's on.

Scarface, IMO, is much more enjoyable and more of an action packed film than Carlito's Way.

Never! I'm tired of hearing how Carlito's Way is superior to Scarface. Please don't take this as an attack on you but I've heard it all too often on this board and I can't understand why everyone seems to feel that way? In any case, since I'm the only one here who seems to think Scarface is better than Carlito's Way, I'll have to wave my flag a little higher.

And as I said Don Andrew, "I can't understand why everyone seems to feel that way?" I understand it's an "[uh-pin-yuhn]" but I still don't understand why everyone has THAT uh-pin-yuhn

I like Scarface a little better. That is beacause it's the movie I fell in love with Al Pacino in. But aside from that,it is an awsome film, and Carlito is good too,but I seem to be partial twards Scarface.

I think the dialogue in Carlito's way is better as he doesnt seem to be in a constant mood with everybody like Tony does in Scarface, so i think Carlito's Way is easier on the ear wink

I don't believe that you really can compare the movies as they are two different types opf movies with two different types of characters.

Pacino played Tony Montana as he was supposed to be played; a hard ass Cuban who would commit any type of crime that he could and wouldn't let anyone get in his way and would stop at nothing to acheive power, money and success.

Pacino played Carlito Brigante as he was supposed to be played; A tough hispanic who did some hard time and came to the realization that nothing was going to get in his way to live a clean, straight and normal life free of crime.

Two totally different characters in two totally different stories.

I think people like Carlito's Way more is because at the end I feel sorry for Carlito and at the end of Scarface I feel like he got what he had coming. But as a movie to watch over and over the action packed Scarface has my vote.

As I age, CARLITO'S WAY seems to actually make more of an emotional impact to me than SCARFACE. Both are great kickass movies, but...

...consider SCARFACE as that youth view of getting the guns, babes, money, mansions, cars, as one rises through the criminal ranks.

Yet CARLITO'S WAY, is the cooling down from all that. 5 years in jail turned Carlito Brigante into a guy that's no longer enthusiastic about being as materialistic as say Tony Montana.
