Let's talk Jack Nicholson - 11/23/23 10:10 AM

My favorite actor in the world. His work continues to amaze me, even though he retired many years ago. I just rewatched The Last Detail. If you haven't seen it, check it out

Jack Nicholson was one of the best. Even when he was not leading in a film, he still shined as a supporting actor, which is talent. My favorites of his are Hoffa, Batman, The Departed, and The Missouri Breaks.

Chinatown is one of my favorite movies. It's so well shot. It's a tour de force in showcasing the old beauty of Los Angeles. The classic LA

Nicholson uses classic method acting relaxation techniques devised by Lee Strasberg to remove any tension from himself that could “get in the way of getting into a role”. As he explained: “The idea is to get the physical body, the emotional body and the mental body into neutral.

I love Nicholson. For my money, his best performances are THE SHINING and AS GOOD AS IT GETS.

Yes I was thinking about The Departed also.

And I really liked him as Hoffa.

He was the best Hoffa. That movie is so underrated too. Got slammed by the critics, but the movie packed a punch. I also liked DeVito's performance

One interesting tidbit about Hoffa is that one of it's producers was Gambino soldier Joe Isgro
