The guy with the Chicago accent from Chicago Fire

The guy with the Chicago accent from Chicago Fire. Any other Chicagoan's here think he sounds like a freaking Disney Character? I'm Born and raised in Chicago and this guy sounds like a complete idiot, he does not sound like us, or am i completely crazy and some of you think he does sound like us? If I do sound like that to other people then I'm never talking again.

What is a Chicago accent ??? I've known a lot of guys from Chicago and they sounded like almost every one else. What role does he play ??? I'll watch for it tonight.

That guy is actually from the southwest suburbs... Naperville to be exact. Right next door to where I grew up. His name is David Eigenberg and I'm told he is a pretty good guy. Admittedly, his accent is a bit "amplified" but its not far off! BTW - This is one of my favorite shows.

South burb accent is something unto itself, mind you.

Yes Huron, it is a serious question or I would not have asked it. And by the way, last night I got a call from a friend who was born and raised in Chicago and I could not detect any accent

Now I'm pretty positive you're trollin. The Chicago accent is one of the most unique, instantly recognizable, & widely parodied accents across the United States. I don't know anyone that doesn't know this. They had a sketch on Saturday night live that was devoted completely to the Chicago accent, for Christ's sake. Hell, it was one of their most legendary sketches.

The folks I have met and know from Chicago have not had any discernable accent, they sound like other people from the Midwest. Now Brooklyn has an accent.

The northside Chicago accent by itself is a lot harder & distinct than any of the Burrough dialects.

The people you all know are most likely not from Chicago proper? People from up to 60 miles or so outside the city will say they're from Chicago because nobody knows/cares what the fuck elgin/Bradley, IL is or where it's located.
