Best Fight Scene In A Movie/Show? - 11/26/1302:11 PM
After watching the season 4 finale of Boardwalk Empire I have to say the fight scene with Eli and Knox is easily among the best ever. It got me thinking of other great fight scenes in TV shows and movies like Good Will Hunting, Training Day, Fight Club obviously, Breaking Bad, Brdwlk Empire and plenty others. I wanted to know what are some of your favorite and/or most memorable fight scenes you've seen on TV or in movies over the years

yes Pizza boy, The Get Shorty scene was good one. Another classic was Casino's ending of the killing of Joe Pesci and the Untouchables bat beating scene. Would post but don't know how!

Sonny beating Carlo in The Godfather The Apollo vs. Rocky fight in Rocky, especially when they cut Rocky's eyelids. Pretty much every fight scene in Raging Bull, including when Jake goes after his brother.

Uma Thurman and Darryl Hannah in Kill Bill. Anybody can do a Hollywood punch scene, but sticking someones face into the vilest toil;et bowls and plucking someone's eye out from their skull is talent.

Probably not in the major movie category but...
Every time I hear "fight scenes" I have to think of the movie, "They Liver" with Roddy Piper(sp), an ex wrestler I think.) Don't know if it's the best but one of the longest fight scenes. Seemed like it went on forever. I actually like that movie tho. It was more a fun type flick.

That was one of the most brutal fight scenes ever filmed, Yogi. Unfortunately, the movie pretty much sucked. And I had high hopes for it because it was based on George V. Higgins's "Cogan's Trade," which is a classic in post-modern crime fiction.
I think the problem was that they should have left it a period pice and set it in the '70s. When I read Higgins today he brings back that decade so vividly that I can practically smell the polyester .
Check out the book, Yogi. I'd never steer you wrong with a book recommendation; you know that .

Another scene with James Gandolfini which in my opinion, supersedes any of them is the beating he threw to Patricia Arquette in the movie True Romance...which is the scene in which David Chase made his decision to cast Gandolfini as Tony Soprano. Also, the scene where he beat the shit out of Coco at his restaurant in Little Italy when he made him bite down on the fireplace.
The final episode of the most recent season (4) of Boardwalk Empire, where Eli beat to death the FBI agent.

Oh yea!! I remember in particular the fight scene with Ralphie in the kitchen. LOL The Sopranos thread which was always hopping on Sundays, was on fire that night. What a shocker that was. I miss those Sunday nights.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the biker scene in the bar from "A Bronx Tale". I always thought the choice of music during the scene was especially ironic.
Good point about not being able to embed videos anymore, i don't think it's that much of a problem but i think people are more likely to watch it if it's embedded.

Google has upgraded youtube to always use https. But embed code is set up for http. Until the powers that be upgrade board to follow you can still embed video just by dropping the "s".

It's working for me Camarel. When you use the video tags and use "http://www.youtube.com/...." between the tags it should work for you as well.

ha ha... he looks like the AB construction crew guys in southern cali when they noticed one of their "kinda fat, but still hot" sister's sitting with a bunch of ASIAN co-workers at the local pastrami joint... they couldn't BELIEVE her audacity... stfh's...
Excuse the N words. They forgot you don't supposed to say that
If you notice a lot of the time who ever gets the first punch wins.
This is how I thought my kids to fight. Anyone your not sure of gets into your space hit him, and down stop to they are on the floor. Then get the hell out of there.
Your space is when you extend your arms out in front of you. They get into that space don't hesitate don't think about it just hit them go for the eyes, throaty and balls.
My communist daughter in Germany thinks I am an animal. But one time she had to use it there and kicked the guys arse. At least that is what she told me.

Any of you guys ever play shot for shot? We did not do it in the arm. We did it in the face.
There was a guy named Ralphie Lanza you may have heard of him or his older brother. Any we were going to do it. I say I go first. That dummy let me go first. Amazingly, he stood there and let me rap him. More amazingly I didn't knock him out with my first punch. It was supposed to be his turn next. But I hit him again then I knocked him out
