Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled

Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 02/25/11 08:31 AM

Oh Charlie. He's been having troubles lately whether it be trashing hotel rooms, going to rehab then ditching it for Las Vegas partying with porn stars, knocking (maybe) one up, and so much more.

Yesterday he might have topped even himself, when he appeared on a radio program and basically proved (1) he aint sober, (2) Definately aint in rehab, (3) has no interest it rehab, (4) he's an asshole, and (5) he's batshit insane.

Just watch, and tell me what the hell he's spouting about.

http://www.tmz.com/2011/02/24/charlie-sh...omas-jefferson/

classic quotes:

"I'm not Thomas Jefferson. He's a pussy"

"I have a disease? Bullshit! I cured it...with my mind."

"Newsflash. I am special and I will never be one of you."

Anyway after all that and basically badmouthing and basically burning his bridges by calling out (and issuing a fight challenge in the UFC Octagon) Chuck Lorre, creator and show-runner of TWO & A HALF MEN, one of the most popular programs on CBS and effectively turned Sheen's career around from has-been clown to the highest paid star on network primetime TV....

It might be over. CBS has cancelled rest of the '10/'11 season for MEN and canning four scripted unproduced episodes left on the schedule. And there is a very good chance CBS will just outright cancel the program permanently, despite a year left on the contracts. So Charlie Sheen's mouth didn't just shoot his cash cow, he's putting cast/crew out of work.

What's sad is somehow this insanity on that radio program started when Sheen started talking aout APOCALYPSE NOW, of course the classic movie starring his dad Martin Sheen. Who I might add had a heart attack on NOW and still completed the picture. And didn't call out his boss or the author of the Declaration of Independence on live radio. Or claim 9/11 was an inside job.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 02/25/11 09:45 AM

Sounds like Sheen's been hanging out with Ted Nugent.. rolleyes

In his interview with Jones, Sheen repeatedly evoked violent images and ideas. He also derided Lorre in an attack that suggested anti-Semitism.

“There's something this side of deplorable that a certain Chaim Levine - yeah, that's Chuck's real name - mistook this rock star for his own selfish exit strategy, bro. Check it, Alex: I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his unevolved mind cannot process,” Sheen said.

“Last I checked, Chaim, I spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold. And the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write,” he said.

Saying he was told that if he went on "attack" execs would cancel the show, Sheen repeatedly referred to the showrunner as "Chaim Levine." (Lorre's birth name is Charles Levine.)

Detnews Article

Sheen later went on to attack Lorre on TMZ, saying he "violently hated" the showrunner, whom he called "a stupid, stupid little man." Sheen challenged Lorre to a fight, saying "If he wins, then he can leave my show."
After the announcement of the series shutdown, Sheen fired off an angry letter to TMZ that read:

"What does this say about Haim Levine after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows ... I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words -- imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong. Remember these are my people ... not yours...we will continue on together... Charlie Sheen"

Hey Lilo, where you been? wink

Last night I heard they just stopped production of the show, but after hearing some of his rant, it sounds like it's the end.

This morning on the radio they said Sheen made two million per episode. eek They also said the he was looking into something on Cable which would pay him 5 Mill. Don't know how valid that story is though.

This is one selfish, ego-centric individual. Basically, he's put at least a hundred people out of work all because of his nose candy and affinity for the--ahem--"ladies." It's all about "me-me-me," and that's all. I won't be surprised if both he and Lohan wind up being found dead before the year's out. It's really sad that the world has such people, and what's even more tragic is that they're surrounded by dozens of "yes-men" who constantly enable them to dig their own graves (e.g., Michael Jackson's so-called "doctor"). They don't call it "Holly-Weird" for nothing. orange

It appears Mr. Sheen is doing what any psychotic, brain fried drug addict would do...blaming someone else for his downfall. Problem is, Charlie got his way for far too long because of his work on 'Men'.

(SIDE NOTE: Hadn't that show about passed its stride anyway? I mean that kid has outgrown the 'cute' stage so how the heck more good seasons could it have had???)

Poor Martin, it must be horrific to watch your child, no matter how old...go down this road, utterly powerless to stop the spiral...

I've been around. Unfortunately my boss has this strange idea that while I'm at work I ought to be working tongue. Combine that with an increased workload because team member is out indefinitely right before launch is due and that means a bit less time for the truly important things in life. Retired/independently wealthy people have it made I tell you. I'm getting annoyed and would love to be self-employed and work at nothing all day. smile

Anyway as far as Sheen goes as I saw on another site, it's a bit ironic for someone whose birthname is Carlos Irwin Estevez to be taking potshots at someone else's stage name. Whatever. I never watched his show and so won't miss it. You would think that his father or brother would have tried more public intervention but we're all adults and have to deal with our own demons.

I can't agree that 2 and a half turned Charlie from a has been to a star. He did have a very visible and popular turn as Michael J. Fox's replacement on Spin City.

And unless I'm missing something I don't see what's derogatory to Jewish people in any of the quotes*. Is "Chaim" some kind of slang slur?

Sheen is clearly troubled and I question the integrity of someone allowing him on the airwaves in a CLEARLY high/drunk state.Exploitation of the lowest kind.

You can't take anything a person says when he's bombed seriously...anyway.

I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x–rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.

I used to love Two and a Half Men but this is absolutely true. the writers even came up with a (somewhat) funny sidekick for Jake but 8 seasons is too long for a TV show. once Charlie went thru all kinds of sex related adventures and had to endure a cry-baby period, it was all over.

and I know the formula is bound for disaster but Alan is so funny, I'd almost agree with a spinoff series.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 02/27/11 06:13 PM

I watch its reruns, but not the new episodes. Not only is Sheen a piece of crap, but they are starting to stretch epsiode scenarios. After so many years, what was unique about the show has become pedestrian. A guy his age in short pants all the time - come on!

There we go with the short pants again. confused lol Someone else commented about that. Hey, it's California, people wear shorts. I don't get it.

As far as the show, I am a late bloomer. I only started watching it about a year or so ago, so even old repeats are new to me. I actually find it very funny. A little risque' at times, but mostly funny.

I hadn't seen this latest interview with Sheen until jut now. I don't know that I saw all of it, but a lot of it. He says he cured himself and had nothing good to say about AA (I think he said it was a joke). He said CBS owes him an apology and should "lick his feet."

He really really sounds angry and in complete denial, insisting he cured himself. It is so tempting to laugh, but I think this guy is hitting bottom. frown

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/01/11 01:37 PM

Sheen's good friend, former NY Met Len Dykstra did a radio interview this morning in which he said Charlie's been clean and the producers of 'Men' did the wrong thing because you don't bench your star player when he's in the best shape and the team depends on him.

While I admire Dykstra's loyalty I doubt it's as simple as all that. Charlie may very well be 'clean' these days but his behavior and attitude certainly have a role to play as well.

Incidentally, I also heard this morning that CBS is paying ALL cast & crew for the 4 remaining episodes that were to be shot this season.

I'm listening to the morning news right now and they said that they took Sheen's kids away from him per a temporary restraining order. It seems his ex-wife says that Sheen threatened to chop her head off. uhwhat Sheen evidently tweeted something to the affect that he was "up to the challenge."

That's the part that scares me. If you want to screw up your life and kill yourself, adios loser. But those poor kids. They're mom is a junkie and not stable. But to have them with Charlie, I was really worried what they were exposed to. I'm just hoping he doesn't go off and storm in her house and a physical altercation begins. Someone in his family needs to have him forced into a psychiatric hold. Especially with remarks he makes like, "Tiger blood now drips from my fangs".

I don't know the rules for committing someone, but more and more I'm thinking he's acting very weird (crazy). I know his dad tried but Charly seems to have blown his family off too. I think this last attempt to sober him up made him become overly defiant. Sheen says today, "This is the challenge he's been looking for and he's waiting to take on the task." confused

They also said that Sheen said (regarding losing his children) that "losing was not an option." The guy has an "indestructible" complex. Poor kids. Both parents need help and what happens to them? frown

Yeah, he more or less told his dad to mind his own business and stop treating him like a 12 year old. Dr. Drew says he's in a "manic" state now and it's all downhill. But if Charlie doesn't want the help what are you gonna do but watch him die. I laugh when he said his "goddesses" don't just him. Haha. Too funny. You're their meal ticket. What are they gonna say.

You cannot save someone who isn't wanting to be rescued. Another "poor lil' rich kid" out of control. What gets me is the media just keeps playing to the guy and giving him airtime, all the while
pretending that's it's "news." This same media is just waiting and drooling in anticipation of covering his death...which, if his present proclivities continue, isn't far off. One cannot keep embracing fire and expect not to be burned eventually.

I was actually wondering if anyone would ask Dr. Drew to weigh in on this. I have alot of respect for him & think that he's absolutely right. Personally, from the few snippets I've seen & heard I think Charlie's gone over the deep end. There is an emptiness behind the anger & bravado that is somewhat chilling. He does look bad and he talks bad. He talks crazy, as if to show the world how strong and invincible he is, now that he's gotten himself fired. Everybody get out of the way when he leaves that 'manic' state and crash lands.

It seems that you just can't get away from Charlie Sheen these days...which of course he's loving every minute of. He may be winning the 'publicity' aspect of this by arranging interviews and ranting to everyone who will listen. But in reality he's lost big time.

He's been doing drugs and dating "professionals" or "adult actresses" since at least the late eighties. (Shrugs) If that's what he wants to do, he owns his life. If his net worth really is $80 million I don't think he will listen to anyone telling him he needs to change.

It reminds me of the poll taken during the height of the Lewinsky/Clinton scandal. The poll's results were that everyone was sick of hearing about it and the media should drop it. However, circulation/ratings went up every time someone covered it.

I'm with you on the fact it's his life, let him own it. Take your two goddesses, hybernate in your little mansion, and do coke until the cows come home. Just don't worry about having your sons, or other kids with you. They're off limits. The tabloids will take photos at your funeral, and we'll all get in with our lives. You know the late night comics were gonna have a field day with this. Charlie has been rambling all over the tv of how he's "winning". I don't know which comic it was...maybe Conan, had a skit where they show several people in bad situations who are "winning". They showed one guy butt naked, handcuffed running from police and runs up to the camera and screams, "I'm winning". It was closed with the motto: "Winning...it's not just for winners anymore". haha. Funny as heck.

EDIT: Here is a link that has the Conan video, "National Association of Winners".

I've been a fan of this guy for years, but when I heard the Alex Jones interview and then everything else that followed I started to get really worried. This Charlie Sheen we've been hearing in the past week or so is not the guy I remember. This is not a guy who is just experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I think this is much more serious and he actually may be psychotic. Listen to him. His thoughts are all disconnected and he's all over the place. I'm afraid he'll do something really bad to himself or someone close to him. This is an ill man who should be committed to a psychiatric hospital. Now is the time for his family to do something. I have no interest in seeing this guy murder himself or somebody else on live television. What is probably more sick than Charlie Sheen is the media treating this like entertainment.

Or the cute reference when Martin's character is telling everyone he and Charlie's mom are getting married and he turns to Charlie and Alan and says, "You can call me dad". Reminds me of on West Wing when Martin's real life daughter Rene Estevez played a secratary, Ginger. On the final episode he turns to her character and says, "How's your mom? Tell her I'll see her soon".

yeah there are some funny moments with Rose. one of my favorites is when Charlie tells her he's going to marry Mia and she looks stunned for a little while then casually heads off saying she's got "things" to do... "I could almost see her medication stop working" says Charlie... lol

really, as far as sitcoms go, and as beat up as it is now, "Men" is/was among my favorites. I really like the dark humour going on and the heavy, mean jokes (mostly regarding drugs and sex lol) I like how you can turn off your mind for an hour with "Men" and then chill out with the lightweight, harmless "Big Bang Theory" (which is going downhill too)

I have no interest in seeing this guy murder himself or somebody else on live television. What is probably more sick than Charlie Sheen is the media treating this like entertainment.

I think that's right on the money, Vinny. Even if he doesn't have a drug problem, the guy CLEARLY has mental problems. The sickening part is, the same media who are catering to his every whim right now, can't wait to cover his funeral. They're nothing but leaches.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/03/11 04:53 PM

Now this is strictly "rumor" per the radio this morning so take it FWIW. According to them they are hearing conflicting reports that Sheen will be on Letterman tonight.

They went on to speculate that since Letterman is on CBS (and they say his ratings are tanking)and Sheen's show is CBS that perhaps the producers of the show are in the midst of dealing with Sheen???? confused

I tend to think it's not true, but then again the way Sheen is all over the place he just may appear.

So, that's the Hollywood gossip for today. That's all I know. lol

They are throwing gasoline on the fire. They shouldn't even be allowed to grant him interviews. This is a man who needs a doctor and then you got guys like Piers Morgan and Howard Stern talking to him like there's nothing wrong with him! They're agreeing with him, echoing his words, saying CBS is the problem and how beautiful the 'goddesses' are. All for ratings. All for money. What would they do if Charlie Sheen was their brother or son? Trying to make money off a sick person like that is unforgivable to me. Are these people insane. I can't help but wonder what's going through Martin Sheen's mind or Emilio's.

I hope Charlie Sheen gets better and can hopefully one day look at this whole thing with a clear mind. And if he does get better, he's not gonna want anything to do with these media people again. He's gonna be angry at the people who didn't step in to intervene.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/03/11 06:39 PM

Sheen's been more or less like this since at least 1989. For better or worse I think what we see really is his true nature. Drugs, bizarre statements and women that act in movies whose titles I can't mention now. Even his recent ex-wife had (has?) substance abuse issues. Birds of a feather flock together. It works for him so why would he change?

Interview
"I've always felt that a man should be able to be with as many women as he likes," says Rachel Oberlin, 24, one of Sheen's two live-in girlfriends. "I've never had the opportunity to share that with any man before because, honestly, I don't think I've ever been with a man who was even deserving of that."

"Charlie," she continues, "is a great man and he can provide the lifestyle to accommodate a relationship such as what the three of us have. He has totally taken me aback by what a wonderful person he is, how open and honest he is."

But do Oberlin and Sheen's other girlfriend, Natalie Kenly, 24, ever find themselves vying for the star's affection?

Nope, insists Oberlin. "[Henly] is totally chill and I'm totally chill and we're two completely different people," she says. "We connect with Charlie in different ways, so there's nothing really there to compete for. We're all pieces of a puzzle that fit together."

The really sad thing about these porn girls is how fast they sold out Charlie for money. Even if he gave them cars and a $40 thousand check, they still sold him out to the tabloids. Like that girl he's supposed to have beaten up in New York, she's been trying hard to cash in on this. Now she's on Howard Stern with all the other Charlie girls, participating in some quiz game or whatever. These leaches are no better than the media people.

I have to give Howard Stern a pass.

I haven't listened to him in over a decade but his show has always been about bad taste, train wrecks, exploitation.

when he was about the only media guy openly embracing this type of stuff, it made him stand out..

If I'm not mistaken,Dana Plato, was troubled when she appeared on Stern, and ended up taking her life soon afterward.

*if the name doesn't ring a bell, she played the daughter on "Diff'rent Strokes" tv show.

I do find it a bit shocking that all these other media outlets are giving a forum to such a troubled man.

"Celebrity Apprentice" has become a dumping ground for has-beens and "B List" celebs. It's about one foot up the ladder from "Celebrity Rehab."

I could not stand Holly Robinson Pete, who should've been fired several times but managed to talk her way to the final 2. (Probably would've won if Bret hadn't gotten sick.)

Bree used to literally suck dick to get air time on Howard Stern. She tried desperately to win Howard's affection and Howard's wife even called in at one point, madder than a legless Ethiopian watching a doughnut roll down a hill. Just imagine what she'd do for Charlie Sheen. "I'd love to marry Charlie" is what she said. No doubt. She's just a set of moving pixels to me (a very interesting set of moving pixels whistle tongue ) but ultimately that is someone's daughter. A lot of time what's happened in situations like that is something went VERY wrong at an early age-jacked up relation with parents/abuse/sex too soon. I wonder sometimes if this is any different from things that happened back in the 70's or 80's before there was 24-7 media, twitter, reality TV and so on. from TMZ

Charlie Sheen just climbed to the top of a building in Beverly Hills, pulled out a MASSIVE machete' ... and waved it around in post-termination triumph ... all while drinking a bottle of Tiger Blood.

It all went down at the Live Nation office building in Beverly Hills ... where Charlie said he had a top-secret meeting with some old friends.

After sheathing his blade, Charlie was asked how he felt about being fired from "Two and a Half Men" -- to which he replied, "Free at last ... free at last."

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/08/11 10:59 AM

Well if anyone needs a job Charlie is hiring.

NEW YORK — Charlie Sheen might be out of work, but he's hiring.

Shortly before Warner Bros. Television announced Monday that it had fired Sheen from "Two and a Half Men," the actor tweeted Monday that he wants to hire an intern to assist him. The tweet is a paid-for endorsement from the year-old website Internships.com.

"I'm looking to hire a winning INTERN with TigerBlood," read the message.

The posting on Internships.com describes the position as a paid, eight-week job for the summer to "work closely with Charlie Sheen in leveraging his social network."

The application form isn't exactly extensive: Applicants must summarize themselves in 75 characters or less.

The partnership was arranged by start-up ad.ly, which connects celebrities with advertisers for social media ads. Sheen has officially signed on with ad.ly after the Beverly Hills-based company consulted with him last week to familiarize him with Twitter.

I have to say that I give you credit for turning your opinion from the 'get off his back' stance to realizing and posting how truly troubled this guy is. It's clear from Sheen's behavior that he's far more than just a partier and it's nice to see the concern.

Good for you, VinnyGorgeous!

I didn't change my mind. I've always defended his lifestyle and I still have no problems with it. Although, I must say that smoking cocaine is probably not a good idea. The problem I have isn't the lifestyle. It's this guy's mental state and whenever I hear someone talk like he's doing now, I can't help but be very concerned. This is not the Charlie Sheen we know. Something has really gone wrong here. People seem to think I'm not on Charlie's team anymore, because I worry about his well being. You think these people he's with now care about his well being? Or those leaches in the media? I'm still defending Charlie Sheen.

I don't understand, Vinny. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't understand how you can condemn his behavior, but not his lifestyle? Aren't they connected?

And, of course the people in his life no don't care about him, or the media either. They all just want to make a buck off of his back. It's horribly sad to see someone used this way. I can't imagine what it must be like for the people who truly DO love him to have to watch this. Very, very sad.

That is true, but before he wasn't behaving like he's behaving now. He wasn't doing interviews 24/7, going from thought to thought and threatening to kill people on live radio. At least, that is not the guy I remember and at the time, I felt people needed to get off his back. He was always on work on time, had no trouble remembering lines and you heard good things from his people. But sadly, many things have gone wrong since then. I can't in good conscience sit back and pretend there is nothing wrong, when clearly he's in a severe manic state and should be committed to a psychiatric hospital ASAP.

There is a line here and Charlie Sheen just may have crossed it. Of course, I can't condone smoking cocaine for three days straight. If you do that, you might very well destroy your brain, which looks to be the case here. There is nothing wrong with having a good time, but if you don't know your limits then you clearly need to get away from that lifestyle. I've always been to known to party hard and most of my friends too. There's never been any problems like this. Now should we stop if somebody suffers the same consequences as Charlie Sheen? Should we stop driving cars if somebody dies in a car accident? I'm fully aware that his lifestyle has most likely contributed to what is happening now, but to condemn a lifestyle makes no sense to me.

There is nothing wrong with changing your mind. I agree and thankfully I do allow myself to change my mind. However I never changed my mind about Charlie Sheen. I don't know how you get that. I didn't change my mind about his lifestyle. Do I think he was sane and well a few months ago? Yes. Do I think he's still sane and well? No. Change my mind? No. Charlie simply changed. Sorry, Tis. I love the California weather, and I actually have an Uncle who is retired to Palm Springs, so I've been there half a dozen times. But California is completely off it's nut with the celebrity worship. Enough is enough.

If I had changed my mind about Charlie Sheen, I would've been coming here saying I was wrong for condoning this type of lifestyle he was living or wrong for having supported him. I never did any of that. When something changes in front of you, it doesn't have to mean that your opinion about something has to change with it. The situation may change, but the opinion may stay the same. It's almost like saying how you love to drive fast and then hearing on the news two people died in a horrible car crash and one is critically injured. You express worry about people who drive too fast, you're hoping the person that's injured will pull through and you think about how terrible car crashes can be. Your mind does not have to be changed. You can still love to drive fast and right or wrong, that is how I feel about the Charlie Sheen situation.

You know TIS, his behavior has alot in common with another "celebrity" named O. J. Simpson. Simpson's interviews were characterized by his incessant talking and his physical animation just like Sheen's. In fact, behavioral psychologists are of the opinion that someone who exhibits such behavior is either intoxicated or lying.

Oli,

I am "assuming" he is not on drugs but just because he says he's had drug test and is drug/alcohol free, doesn't mean much. On a much lower scale, I relate to when I quit smoking and getting fidgety and with Sheen it seems magnified 100 fold.

He seems more rambling than necessarily lying, but who knows? I am finding I am not laughing at this guy so much anymore, as much as hoping he gets help. frown Do you know at what point he can simply be "put" somewhere for help? Does he have to attempt suicide or what?

Passing a drug test means nothing, Tis. Anyone can buy supplements in a health food store that can mask the results of basic drug tests. Junkies on probation/parole have been doing that for years.

But he has bigger problems than drugs anyway. He may very well be clinically insane. If he doesn't get the treatment he so clearly needs, he will be dead soon.

He's in California, right? I'm not familiar with California law, but I assume it approximates that of Texas. Anyone with standing can petition a probate court for a determination of someone's mental state. Such determination can result in a sanity hearing and examination by court appointed psychiatrists, and ultimately, remand to a health facility. But it's so tough to accomplish.

Yes, he is in California. About a week or more ago (I think I posted this) I know his father (Martin Sheen) tried to get him help but couldn't force him to do so. Charlie didn't want help. Dr. Drew is certainly all over this. (And he is qualified to be.)

He's actually done a tv special on VH-1 where his 'Celebrity Rehab' airs; assessing the entire Charlie Sheen condition and situation.

I tried to watch but unfortulately came across it at almost midnight & fell asleep. He was about to explain why & how Charlie could still be saved....after these commercial messages.

I don't see it continuing with anyone else even if they lose the Charlie Harper"character" and add Lowe or Stamos (who I can actually picture doing Sheen's role)as the long lost Harper cousin or whatever......I think it's over if Charlie is gone. Tim Kenneally TheWrap.com

Charlie Sheen has turned his fire-breathing fists -- or at least his acid tongue -- toward Jon Cryer.

The newly unemployed "Two and a Half Men" star reached out to E! Online on Tuesday to lambaste his former co-star, calling Cryer a variety of unflattering names that start with "T."

Calling by phone from his home, aka "Sober Valley Lodge," Sheen fumed that Cryer had not shown him any support during his very public feud with "Men" creator Chuck Lorre and subsequent firing. Sheen said, "Jon has not called me. He's a turncoat, a traitor, a troll. Clearly he's a troll. He issued a statement. Is it gonna take me calling him a 'traitor, juvenile and scared' for him to get it?"

That's wrong of Sheen to blast Cryer like that. The guy was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He's got a right to make a living, too. Why would he want to piss off Lorre and CBS?

Okay, he didn't speak out for Sheen, but he didn't speak out against him, either. I just lost some more respect for Charlie.

Lindsay Lohan is scheduled for court later, I've been hearing about it all day. (On seriousl news networks, mind you...)

It's possible that now that he's actually been fired, the media is putting Charlie on the 'old news' shelf and turning their attention back to what's expected of Lohan's date with the judge.

They have had the Lohan story here too. Evidently, from what I understand, the judge says she will have jail time but has until March 20something to decide if she wants to go to trial. Besides the stolen necklace issue there are probation violation problems as well. Not a story I am necessarily following. It's just there.

Los Angeles police were at the Sherman Oaks, Calif., home of actor Charlie Sheen on Thursday night.

The fired "Two and a Half Men" actor tweeted "#fastball: all good here on homefront. all reports are false. Cops Raid Charlie's House After Alarming Call

3/10/2011 9:05 PM PST by TMZ Staff

UPDATE 10:42 PM Law enforcement sources tell us cops wrapped up their search and Charlie wasn't arrested. Charlie's lawyer, Mark Gross says police found one rifle -- from the 1800s -- and "a few bullets," adding no other weapons were in the house. Gross also confirmed police executed the search warrant because someone -- he didn't know who -- claimed Charlie and a gun.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops raided Charlie Sheen's house after receiving a call earlier today that Charlie threatened to harm himself with a firearm.

Under the restraining order obtained by Brooke Mueller, Charlie is prohibited from possessing weapons.

Cops are inside the house right now, searching for firearms and ammunition.

And law enforcement tell us cops are not trying to place Charlie on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Charlie, his lawyers, and several friends are sitting at a table in the backyard eating hamburgers. KTLA shot video of the surreal scene from their helicopter.

We are told the LAPD has been conducting several investigations involving Charlie, including the possible violation of the TRO.

UPDATE 10:18 PM PT -- Sheen just tweeted: "#fastball; the LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!!! c"

LAPD raids Charlie Sheen's mansion after receiving tip that actor owned guns, ammo

BY Nancy Dillon
DAILY NEWS WEST COAST BUREAU CHIEF

LOS ANGELES - Cops raided Charlie Sheen's gated mansion Thursday night after hearing the loose cannon had firearms that violated his estranged wife's restraining order.

"Crazy, crazy, crazy. It's crazy here," a source inside the house told the Daily News shortly after multiple cruisers from the Los Angels Police Department arrived.

A police spokeswoman said detectives were investigating a tip that Sheen owned guns and ammunition. They began searching his palatial estate shortly after 8 p.m. Pacific time. A police official tells The Associated Press that officers retrieved one weapon, an antique gun.

Sheen later tweeted the LAPD were AWESOME. Absolute pros! they can protect and serve this Warlock anytime!!!

Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller got a temporary restraining order March 1 after claiming Sheen recently punched her and threatened to send her decapitated head to her mother in a box.

"All good here on the homefront. All reports are false," Sheen tweeted after rumors spread that police were looking for drugs and wanted to place him on a psych hold. "I'll explain more very soon."

Inexplicably, lawyers for Sheen and Mueller said late Thursday that the couple reached an agreement that settles custody issues and will end their pursuit of the restraining order, The Associated Press reported.

A hearing had been scheduled for March 22.

Earlier in the day, Sheen filed a $100 million suit against his former bosses on "Two and a Half Men."

On page after page, Sheen claims show creator Chuck Lorre humiliated, harassed and disparaged him for years, wanted him punished and made him the scapegoat in a diabolical plan to shut down TV's top-rated sitcom.

He says Warner Bros. decided to "placate" Lorre's "massive ego and selfish demands" because he runs two other sitcoms for the studio: "The Big Bang Theory" and "Mike and Molly."

"Lorre is the proverbial '800-pound gorilla,' " the lawsuit says in language only slightly less colorful than Sheen's insult-filled on-air rants against his enemies.

"Lorre's inflated ego, laziness and ill-will toward Mr. Sheen and his perceived lifestyle is in direct derogation of Mr. Sheen's rights."

The lawsuit claims Sheen was clean, sober and ready to return to work Feb. 14, but Lorre "unilaterally" decided not to write scripts in violation of the star's $2 million-per-episode contract.

Sheen, 45, was fired from the hit show Monday, capping a tumultuous run that featured sex-and-drug benders, attacks against his TV bosses, and the launch of a Twitter feed that created a loony lexicon of catchphrases like "tiger blood" and "Winning!"

Lorre's lawyer dismissed Sheen's scenario.

"The allegations in the complaint against Mr. Lorre are as recklessly false and unwarranted as Mr. Sheen's rantings to the media. These accusations are simply imaginary," said Howard Weitzman. "Chuck Lorre's concern has been and continues to be about Mr. Sheen's health."

Attorneys for Charlie Sheen and his estranged wife say the former couple have reached an agreement that settles any custody issues and will end her pursuit of a lengthy restraining order.

Story: L.A. police search Charlie Sheen's home for firearms
Attorneys for Sheen and Brooke Mueller issued a statement Thursday night saying the pair had "reached an agreement that resolves their differences." The statement said the details of the arrangement were being kept confidential for the benefit of their twin sons.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42028808/ns/today-entertainment/

Mueller obtained a temporary restraining order against Sheen earlier this month, claiming he threatened her on a recent trip to the Bahamas. A hearing had been scheduled for March 22.

Los Angeles police went to Sheen's home Thursday night, hours after the agreement was announced, apparently searching for weapons.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/12/11 04:51 PM

Jesus Christ. He must think his "followers" are laughing with him, instead of at him. I don't find this the slightest bit amusing anymore. It's old news and people will quickly tire of the overexposure. The man needs help and someone who loves him should just grab him by the throat and drag him to a hospital.

And on an unrelated note, how is this still in the news after the worst earthquake in 300 years? This is why I fucking hate the celebrity obsessed media. They're the lowest of the low. Leaches and bloodsuckers. If one of the really aggressive ones (the Hollywood paparazzi) ever got popped by an angry celeb who actually wanted his privacy, I'd publicly cheer the assassination. And I don't care what that makes me.

Well I know Nancy Grace and Geraldo Rivera would probably call your stance despicable. You'd be dirt in their eyes. However, you'd be a warlock in Charlie Sheen's and you'd have me and just about every major celebrity in your corner till the very end.

Neither did I.

And I agree Sheen's gotten WAY too much attention from the media as well as the Gangster BB; the tragedy and loss in Japan should put him at the bottom of the news where he belongs.

On another note, regarding Sheen..I heard a few days ago on the radio that Sheen was actually taking his show on the road and will be appearing in Detroit with his rants. Seriously! lol I didn't take it as a joke. They said a huge amount of tickets have already been sold. Perhaps our friend Lilo can confirm.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/16/11 04:06 PM

Yeah, he's booked in Detroit, New York and somewhere else. My personal opinion: People are going to tire of that act VERY fast. He's not a stand up comedian, he's an actor (and a talented one at that). But doing improv is a whole new ballgame. And I think people are already tired of hearing that he's "winning." What else can he really talk about?
Posted By: Lilo

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/16/11 04:17 PM

Yup, TIS, PB ..Sheen sold out the Fox Theater in 18 minutes. That's about 5000 seats, give or take.
On his radio show this was a matter of amused frustration to Mitch Albom , who put on a tribute to Ernie Harwell at the Fox before his passing. It took a lot longer to sell those tickets. I'm not sure if that was a sellout ot not.

As far as possible Sheen topics
"Polygamy and you-a guide for the Alpha Warlock"
"Are you crazy or just winning-Tell the difference"
"I'm special, you're not-Deal with it"
"80 million ways to convince women to love you"
"Prison's for other people-10 ways to avoid jail"

I went to a signing at the Union Square Barnes and Noble to see him, Lilo. My wife was cuckoo for "Morrie," so we shot down and made a night of it. Anyway, I really think he was sitting on a phone book when he was fielding questions. I was going to ask him if he was taller than Mike Lupica, but the Missus threatened to file for divorce right then and there if I did.

Funny you posted that, Gets. I had to use the search feature to find this, but here's what I posted about the show way back on September 23, 2008, in the "Movies/TV Random Post Whoring" thread:

Originally Posted By: pizzaboy

It was much funnier when he was a cute, smart alecky ten year old. Now it just reminds me of an inferior version of THE ODD COUPLE, with a teenager thrown in for no apparent reason.

As far as the Sam Malone/Charlie Harper comparison: Yeah, I can definitely see where you're coming from, in that they were both aging lotharios. But Sam Malone seemed to be a decent person at heart. Charlie Harper may have a "heart of gold," but he's clearly a pretty selfish guy. Plus, Sam Malone beat his problem with booze, and speaking about it was a recurring theme during the 11 year run of "Cheers." Charlie Harper never showed the slighest inclination towards quitting, or even cutting back for that matter.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 03/19/11 09:11 PM

Of course, the Cheers era of tv was able to be funny without being crude. I don't recall bathroom or similar "humor" in Cheers scripts. Indeed, Malone was a Lothario who, whil e
unrepentent, was not debauched like Sheen's character (on or off the screen).

Crowd boos Sheen during his 1st leg of stage tour
April 2, 2011, 9:47 PM EST

DETROIT (AP) -- Charlie Sheen and his "goddesses" took the stage to thunderous applause Saturday night for the first leg of his "Torpedo of Truth" tour. The 70-minute show hadn't even ended when the first reviews were in, and they were brutal.

The former "Two and a Half Men" star showed that comedic success on the screen doesn't necessarily translate to the stage, and the capacity crowd at the 5,100-seat Fox Theatre rebelled before he left the stage, chanting "refund!" and walking out in droves.

Linda Fugate, 47, of the Detroit suburb of Lincoln Park, walked outside and up the block yelling, "I want my money back!" She said she paid $150 for two seats. "I was hoping for something. I didn't think it would be this bad."

That's the only thing Charlie Sheen has said lately that's made any sense. What did these people THINK the show was going to be? It's like they're lining up to see him self-implode, and that's disgusting.

I know that these concert venues exist to make money, but Radio City? The Christmas show, Madagascar Live and Charlie Sheen. Nice.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 04/03/11 05:40 PM

The Radio City show is less than half sold from what I've read. These reviews won't help. I'm not sure what he (or the audience) expected. He's a wonderful comedic actor, but he's not a standup comedian. I think the result was kinda predictable.

From what I understand, the brokers bought up a lot, and then tried to sell them on sites like StubHub, but nobody was buying. Good. Those brokers have made it impossible for an average person to see a concert. Glad to see them get hosed.

He does have talent. There is a reason why he was the highest paid actor on television. If you actually think he's talentless, then I'd love to hear your definition of talent. Today, Charlie Sheen is in desperate need of psychiatric help and anyone who thinks they'll be getting the old Charlie is nothing short of being a moron. I think there is nothing wrong with disliking Charlie Sheen, but to imply he's got no talent says more about you than Charlie Sheen.
Posted By: Frank_Nitti

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 04/03/11 09:44 PM

The dude may have talent, but not just anyone can get up and do stand-up comedy, something Sheen has no experience with as far as I know. Even Jerry Seinfeld says he bombed on stage all the time when he started touring after his show ended. Sheen's act was so bad, even going for the cheap pop by wearing a Detroit Tigers jersey couldn't save him. Booed in Detroit...that's a bad sign. Detroit doesn't even boo the 26-49 Pistons.

Anyway he's 'performing' in Chicago tonight so we'll see what happens...
Posted By: MaryCas

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 04/04/11 04:45 PM

Apparently he did better in Chicago.

Vinny, please relax and don't take "opinions" so literal. Yes, he's a talented actor, but as Frank pointed out, that doesn't make you a stand up comic. Peace be with you, my response was in the vein of a Charlie Sheen rant.

I'll go with Webster's definition of talent # 4 - "a special often athletic, creative, or artistic aptitude".

Lincoln Park is what we refer to locally as "downriver" and has been (deservedly or not and tongue-in-cheek or not) long considered by anyone who doesn't live downriver to be a place where lower-class not too bright people whose family trees don't fork, go to live. whistle

I said the same thing in an earlier post. Sheen is a great actor. And not just in comedy, either. Don't forget "Wall Street" and "Platoon" back in the '80s.

The thing is, he has no stage background at all. He's never done standup. He's never done off-Broadway, let alone a Broadway type play. He's never done anything in front of a live audience. And getting up in front of a live audience is an entirely different animal than working in front of a camera. Very few actors can do both well (the most notable exception has to be Pacino).

I don't know what he or his audience were expecting. What I do know is that the jackals in the media fed this frenzy. Maybe now these suckers who shelled out for the tickets to his show will finally see the media for what they really are. A bunch of soulless leaches.

Sheen booed off stage in New York April 9, 2011, 1:29 PM EST
WENN

Charlie Sheen left the stage 30 minutes early at his show in New York on Friday night after audience members heckled him throughout the performance.

The former "Two and a Half Men" star is currently travelling the U.S. with his My Violent Torpedo Of Truth/Death Is Not An Option tour.

The performances have received mixed reactions from audiences, and the crowd at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall was less than impressed with Sheen, according to TMZ.com.

During the show, Sheen received boos from the audience after declaring he had quit drugs. The actor went on to fuel his public war of words with "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre by daring the TV boss to join him onstage at the venue on Sunday. He said, "(Let's) work this s--- out. Of course I want my job back man!"

Charlie Sheen claims 'discussions' about returning to 'Two and a Half Men' April 13, 2011, 10:36 AM EST By Tim Molloy TheWrap

In Boston for his national tour, Charlie Sheen told radio station 98.5 WBZ-FM that "there's been discussions" about him returning to "Two and a Half Men."

But you may want to take what Sheen says with seven-gram rocks of salt: Sheen told a Philadelphia station three days before he was fired from the show that he expected a deal soon to bring it back from hiatus.

"I was asked not to divulge anything," Sheen told the Boston station Tuesday. "Had they told me at the end of Season 8 that that behavior wasn't going to be cool, I would have adjusted it."

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 04/19/11 04:31 AM

You're a 19 year old kid.

You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam .

It's November 11, 1967. LZ (landing zone) X-ray

Your unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense from 100 yards away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MedEvac helicopters to stop coming in

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out.

Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.

As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter.

You look up to see a Huey coming in. But.. It doesn't seem real because no MedEvac markings are on it.

Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you.

He's not MedEvac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.

Even after the MedEvacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you at a time on board.

Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety.

And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!! Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.

He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Captain Ed Freeman, United States Air Force, died last Wednesday at the age of 70, in Boise , Idaho

May God Bless and Rest His Soul.

I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we've sure seen a whole bunch about Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen. frown

In all the seven pages' worth of talk on Sheen and Men here, has anyone actually mentioned how dreadful the show actually is?

I've not met anyone who thinks the show is funny who isn't also a lunatic.

Tony,

I think they're referring to Sheen's one man show, not his television show.

I read that he enjoys badmouthing his ex wife Denise on stage, even got the crowd to chant "Fuck Denise" a couple of thousand times. It's a little strange since he spoke so well of her on the Howard Stern show not too long ago. But I guess it isn't that strange..considering how sick the man is.

Charlie, what's she done to be the villain? That she's hot, not fucked up, and you lost her?

~I like that old tabloid story that Charlie was too distracted setting gambling bets over the phone while Denise was popping one of the kids out. Duh, winning!

LOS ANGELES – Hugh Grant has been weighing a big move: replacing the fired Charlie Sheen on CBS' "Two and a Half Men."

A person familiar with the situation said Wednesday the British film actor was in negotiations to join the sitcom as its new leading man. The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because producer Warner Bros. and CBS hadn't authorized public comment, said the talks had stalled without resolution.

I wonder if they'll change the tenor of the show. I don't see Hugh dialoging the way Sheen did.

At this rate they'll do anything to keep the MEN money train rolling without the Warlock.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 05/12/11 03:16 PM

Ok, I don't have a link to post but the local L.A. radio station (Kearth 101) reported that Hugh Grant was ready to sign a deal for the show but backed out in the end because he wanted more creative say. So, it looks like that's out. Darn, I would have rooted for him.

Anyway, you'll NEVER guess who they are talking to now? Jason Bateman. uhwhat I don't dislike him, but I just don't see him as a draw to a show that lost it's main star. I think Grant, Stamos or any of the others would be better. Just my opinion.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 05/12/11 06:46 PM

He wanted more creative say? I say give it to him. Getting this guy could potentially be a brilliant move. I'd hate to see Batemen in there..He's a fine actor, but I really don't think he could fit in there. What about Paul Rudd? I love that guy. Or Jonah Hill lol.
Posted By: The Italian Stallionette

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 05/12/11 06:59 PM

Just now on MSNBC they speculated that this deal going south COULD be a ploy to see what the response would be. Seems silly, but who knows.

I have no idea what "creative" license he may mean, but another issue might be that Grant is not from the U.S. and I imagine that would be a big factor for him having to go back & forth.

The more I think about it though, he'd be great. I agree with Oli that he certainly wouldn't have the harsh, risque personality as Sheen's character. However, he could easily (and probably perfectly) play the charming but awkward character who lands all the ladies (or not). smile

Then again on the other hand, why not just start a new series instead of completely re-doing Charlie Harper's character. lol

TIS

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 05/12/11 07:19 PM

I think it would be better to keep the Two And Half Men brand alive. The name is just too big for cancellation. Also, it wasn't just Charlie Sheen's show. Jon Cryer had a lot to do with the show getting as big as it did. And Angus too.

I hope Grant goes for it, but what they shouldn't do is re-do Charlie Harper's character. That would be a terrible mistake. Hugh Grant is such a goofy guy and even though, he can be good with the ladies from time to time, I don't see him landing every chick he sees. Alan would probably be able to compete with Grant lol.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 05/13/11 12:37 AM

Ok, they now have a replacement for Charlie Sheen and you'll never guess who (this time). Ashton Kutcher. uhwhat Can't say I thought of him. I don't like or dislike him, but it might work. He's young and good looking and probably could continue Sheen's role pretty believably. Plus he has a following and may bring a newer/fresher audience to the show. What do you think?

I'll take that as a "disagree" Vinny. lol

I'm trying to think of what I've seen Kutcher in besides The 70's show. I saw "What Happens In Vegas." That wasn't bad. Other than that I don't know. I know he's popular with the ladies. My daughter thinks he's "hot." We'll see.

Btw, the comment (from the link posted) below by Chuck Lorre. Are we to assume that the character of Charlie is gone and Kutcher will be "introduced" as someone else???? confused I never was clear if they wanted another Charlie Harper or a totally new character.

Chuck Lorre has crafted a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies the network and studio. “It’s really funny,

lol lol

I dunno what to think.

Channel 11 here in New York just said it's pretty much a done deal. They had a rumor monger from Hollywood on and he said---and I hope this isn't true because it's horrible---that Lorre is still so angry with Sheen that he's contemplating killing the character off in an embarrassing Charlie Sheen-like fashion. Like a drug overdose or a hooker induced heart attack, with lots of references to "winning" and other Sheen-isms.

Either way, that first episode will be highly anticipated. After that, I dunno. I like Cryer a lot, so I hope it works out for the short term.

Ashton Kutcher Will Make Less Than Charlie Sheen

By The Blemish

Charlie Sheen earned a base pay of $1.25 million an episode for Two and a Half Men which ballooned to $2 million after factoring in profit and participation but he threw it all away because he’s a big f**k-up. Now his job goes to Ashton Kutcher, who will not be playing Charlie Harper, by the way.

This works out for CBS in two ways. First, Ashton will bring in a younger demographic (read: people under the age of 50). Second, they get to pay this guy much less. Relatively. Reportedly between $625,000 and $900,000.

Sure, less than Charlie Sheen, but he’s still being overpaid. For people like Ashton, I always like to start my negotiations at the low end. Usually I offer them a Twinkie and go from there.

The interesting part is how they’ll write Ashton in and Charlie out. Based on the amount of animosity between show creator Chuck Lorre and Sheen, I expect Charlie’s character to be killed in a fiery car crash that only happened because he was masturbating while driving past an elementary school. Ashton will be the hero who discovers Charlie’s hidden stash of kiddie porn.

And how lucky is Ashton? By dumb luck he just landed a starring role in the number one comedy on TV. The only way his life could get any better is if Demi Moore made friends with Scarlett Johansson and they both blew him. At the same time.

That's one way to write him out lol lol.

Re: Charlie Sheen goes Nuts, "Men" cancelled - 05/13/11 07:45 PM

I'm really kind of indifferent to Kutcher (I neither like or dislike him for the most part). He might be a good choice because like him or not, he does have a following, he is younger and if he is to be a ladie's man that's a plus I guess. Plus he's in his genre with comedy. That being said, Sheen did make the show if you ask me (yes, even with Cryer as a co-star) and Ashton has to really impress for it to last more than one more season.

I read yesterday that he is NOT going to take of the Charlie Harper character, although I imagine it won't be hard to have a long lost cousin show up or something.

After the year that they've had, the team behind CBS and Warner Bros. TV's "Two and a Half Men" are understandably skeptical about committing to a new star for the beleaguered hit comedy.

The Wall Street journal reports (via Vulture) that Ashton Kutcher, who officially stepped up as the Charlie Sheen replacement at CBS' May 19 upfront presentation, has signed only a one-year contract with the series.

Would you watch Charlie Sheen in a new sitcom? Because he's reportedly talking about starring in one. Maybe.

According to TMZ, the go-to outlet for people on Team Sheen to leak news, the fired "Two and a Half Men" star is considering a "big offer" for a broadcast network comedy that will be written for him, will go straight to series and could be on the air by midseason.

To follow up with Bam's post, it does indeed sound like they will kill off Charlie with his funeral in the opening episode. Surprises me for some reason, but I'm guessing they'll make it very funny. confused

"Sheen's Charlie Harper will be killed off ... and now, according to Deadline.com, Harper's funeral will take place at the beginning of the September 19 show.

The episode will reportedly open with a memorial service attended by Harper's many girlfriends. Charlie's beach pad -- the home he shares with Alan and Jake -- will then go up for sale and real-life celebs are all potential buyers.

According to the report, Ashton Kutcher's character will likely buy the house and somehow Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones stay in the picture."

FX rolling the dice on Charlie Sheen Jan. 15, 2012, 2:05 PM EST

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- The chief of the FX network says he still hasn't seen a script for Charlie Sheen's new comedy "Anger Management," which is scheduled to debut in June.

FX's John Landgraf said Sunday that's a little unusual for the cable network. FX almost never orders series without seeing a pilot episode, much less a script, in advance. But it still decided to take a risk with the actor who Landgraf said had "probably the most epic meltdown in the history of television."
