Pizza War. Chicago tavern style vs Brooklyn style. - 07/20/22 03:41 PM

I always see them trying to compare Chicago deep dish against NY otherwise known as Brooklyn style pizza. I've never been a big fan of Chicago deep dish to be honest and have ordered and enjoyed Chicago tavern style pizza way more. With its super thin tasty crunchy crust and lots of cheese and ingredients such as homemade Italian Sausage with a good red sauce, it is absolutely delicious. If you are hungry enough you can easily finish an entire pie yourself without even thinking about it. The pizza is cut into small squares throughout with the outside pieces having a nice thin crispy crust known as butter crust on the outside referred to as "corners", and these are my favorite parts of the Pizza.

If you have had Chicago tavern style pizza you know what I am talking about and may even agree with me that its better than Chicago Deep Dish.

So if this is the case and you have had both Chicago Tavern style and Brooklyn Style, which one do you like better?

In my opinion its New York/Brooklyn style all the way. And I lived in Chicago for awhile.

New York is the best but for Chicago style, I prefer deep dish over the corner/crackers crap they serve.

Explain the reasoning behind not liking Chicago style tavern pizza if you don't mind. I want to hear your explanation.

Also a good Detroit style pizza is tough to beat.

First, my pizza has to have a crust. Secondly, I prefer the heartiness and cheesiness of a deep dish.

A good thin crust pizza has plenty of crust. Pizano's for example makes a good butter crust but I understand its not as much crust as you would find on Brooklyn Style since the slices are much bigger and not in little squares/corners. I prefer my pizza no matter what kind it is cooked well done so the crust is nice and crispy.
