mostaccioli v rigatoni - 02/17/14 01:38 AM

any opinions?

they both work well with vodka sauce, so i'm not sure why restaurants favor rigatoni

Probably because most patrons can't pronounce the "m" pasta, and/or would be afraid to order it because they don't know what it is. Strictly a marketing thing.

Chicago pizza > NYC pizza (both are very good, gotta go with your hometown)
Chicago dogs > NYC dogs (how is that even a debate?)

I can agree that chicago style deep dish "pizza" is very good, but it aint real pizza. As for the chicago dogs i guess its just too much going on for my taste, to me all a hotdog needs is just a little mustard.

Honestly, a lot of Chicagoans (myself included) usually just have mustard and onions on hot dogs (and NO ketchup lol )

My choice of toppings for a hot dog is sauerkraut.

Agreed...I actually prefer NY style pizza to be honest (but I had it in Chicago)

But Chicago style dog is the best frankfurter in the world, hands down, including Frankfurt

I like microwaved hot dogs with only ketchup on them.

Rigatoni w/ meatsauce is best .! Mostaccioli is good with a thicker sauce since it has no ridges to hold thin sauces .Penne riggate is also good kinda like mostaccioli but penne has ridges . But us true Sicilians love our homemade spaghetti & cavatelli .your makin me hungry.Do you know what spadine is.? I love it & chose it for my name !

Rigs have always been my favorite
I never heard the word mostaccioli till I moved to the Midwest.
The closest equivalent from where I grew up were Penne and Ziti
