What would you have done?

I think we all agree that this book sucked. I just found it interesting about what youy would have done if you had the chance to write this book. I personally would have written about the events after GFI, after GFII and leading up to GFIII. Forget Nick Geraci, I would have introduced Frankie Five Angels, Joey Zaza, Don Atobello and Hyman Roth. Then instead of GF Revenge I would have done a prequel to GF. But thats just my idea, what would you have written about?

Plawrence's version was much better than Winegardners. Much, much better. Plaw's version is posted over in the Trilogy thread. Check it out if you haven't already done so.

I have already looked up on Plawrence's sequel and I really liked.

No doubt DC, Plawrence was a gifted writer, indeed. I wish I had the opportunity to get to know him.
The single most important part of the post GF II storyline should have been concentrating on the casinos and laying the groundwork for Michael's quest for "legitimacy", and Winegardner missed the boat on both.
I also enjoyed your contribution to the story and the idea of introducing a Moe Dalitz like character into the mix. And of course Plawrence's idea of introducing young Vincent Mancini to the story.
What did Winegardner give us besides a ridiculous first name for Don Altobello ? "Excuse me, Don Ozzie, Mama Harriet says dinner's on the table". Puhleeeeeeze !
Vincent became non-existent, Gardner Shaw was replaced and Michael got a hard-on at the movies, "behold the wood", which as a Catholic I take great offense to.
We can only hope that the powers that be at Paramount log on to this websiite now and then, because the idea of an inferior "frat-pack" actor playing Nick Geraci, an inferior character, makes me want to jump.

You'd think that Winegardner, being from Moe's hometown, would have caught that. Dalitz is required reading for anyone serious about learning about the history of Las Vegas.

Actually, let me correct myself, Moe wasn't from Cleveland, but some of his early business operations were based in Cleveland.
