MLB 2022 - 04/18/22 11:53 PM

SO happy baseball is back and the Yankees have looked alright. Took 2 of 3 from Boston, split 4 with Toronto, but then lose 2 out of 3 to Baltimore!? Come on guys!

Yankees are in a groove right now. I really love the way they are swinging the bats. They are winning with more than just a home runs and I hope that they can continue to do this.

They looked well balanced coming out of the gate. 18-6, 11 wins in a row. Let's keep it going!

Re: MLB 2022 - 05/12/22 12:52 AM

Not a bad start out of the gate: 22-8, best record in baseball and best ERA in the AL!

Yankees on a 6 game winning streak, sweeping both Anaheim and Detroit. Best team in baseball at 39-15!

The Oakland A’s are an embarrassment to the sport.

Re: MLB 2022 - 06/09/22 12:02 AM

They're rebuilding so their struggles this season were to be expected. Hope they can get that new ballpark they've been after for so long. If not, I'd say move to Vegas and forget you were ever in Oakland.

I cannot believe how good the Yanks have looked. Our pitching looks fantastic. Even when our offense looks tired they still find a way to win. I hope that this is the year that it all comes together and they win the whole thing.

Re: MLB 2022 - 06/24/22 09:55 PM

It's there's to lose IMO. Not only do they have the best record in baseball at 52-18, but statistically they're dominating as well with the lowest team ERA, most runs scored, and I think the most homeruns of any team in MLB. However, what frightens me is, their pitchers are all not going to give them 200+ innings. The most Nestor Cortes has throw in a single season is 93 innings last year and he's currently already at 74. Severino hasn't thrown more than 190 since 2018 and he's already at 66. Cole, Monty, and Taillon should be fine but they're going to need to add pitching at the deadline. I know they've got some kids from the minors but they're in the bullpen. They'd need to be stretched out as starters and then who takes their spot in the pen? And will this be another Joba Chamberlain situation where these kids bounce from bullpen to starter? LOVE the way they're playing right now (especially after putting up that 4 spot on the Asterisks last night to walk off) but they're a long way from winning it at this time unfortunately. A lot of baseball left to be played.

Glad to see the Yanks swinging the bats well heading into the All-Star break and taking 2 of 3 from Boston in the process.

Yanks are in a slump right now but I expect them to turn it around. Do you think they will call up any of their young kids this late in the season since they decided not to trade them?

Re: MLB 2022 - 08/07/22 01:07 AM

Yankees have been in a slump for the last 6 weeks. I believe July was the first month this season they finished under .500. I have NO idea why they traded Montgomery for an outfielder? I would like to see them call the kids up from the minors but have no idea why they're holding back?

Re: MLB 2022 - 08/07/22 01:28 AM

I don’t either. Their top SS prospect Volpe is in AA and has found his stride. They also have another SS prospect named Peraza in AAA who they haven’t called up yet. They could call them both up at the same time and get them some experience at the big league level. Maybe one or both of them will surprise everyone and show that they’re ready for the league right away? I wish they would call at least one up. The Montgomery trade confused me greatly too but I do like that they went out and got a starter as well as Benintendi.

I have also been watching the Derek Jeter documentary. It was interesting hearing him talk about the 04 ALCS. It sounds like he and others were implying that the overall culture that made them so successful was not there anymore and hadn’t been there since 2001.

They don't need the position players in the minors to come up, they need arms. They need to start preserving Cortes for the playoffs because he's already at a career high for innings thrown. Taillon's struggled as of late, Sevy's on the DL, and you've got to reassimilate German slowly.

The documentary has been awesome but the race talk during episode 5 was unwarranted and cheap IMO.

Re: MLB 2022 - 09/01/22 02:48 AM

They have a real opportunity to call these kids up. The middle infield has been a weak point for us and the kids should get a shot. Unsure why the front office is hesitant. I believe if the team is healthy and with at least one more solid bat(could be a young prospect) then our lineup is solidified and I like our chances against anybody even with flaws elsewhere.

Re: MLB 2022 - 09/01/22 11:38 PM

They need to turn it around. They've been a below .500 team since July and have blown a big portion of their lead since then. They've gotta turn it around this month, especially heading into October next. Need homefield advantage against the Asterisks.

Re: MLB 2022 - 09/13/22 05:54 PM

I am unsure about the Yanks chances in the postseason. But I think as long as we are out there and at full strength then they can beat just about anybody. They have to close this season out strong. Stanton finding his groove will be huge for them.

Re: MLB 2022 - 09/13/22 11:41 PM

Agreed. They need to get healthy heading into the postseason but they've been stumbling for too long now and haven't turned it around. When you think they've turned a corner, they remind you they haven't. Still a few weeks left of the regular season. Fingers crossed!

Re: MLB 2022 - 09/14/22 08:00 PM

Absolutely. I think the season that Judge is having is phenomenal. But I would not be at all surprised if Ohtani won MVP.

Re: MLB 2022 - 09/15/22 12:12 AM

No way if Judge breaks Marris' record. They can't deny him at that point. I'm just a little disappointed he won't win the triple crown.

After the Houston Astros manager complained that there were not enough American Black players in the WS, a man breaks down why there are not more American Black players in MLB.

Re: MLB 2022 - 11/07/22 06:20 PM

Very disappointed in the Yankees abysmal performance and the press conference from Cashman. Things need to be adjusted regarding the lineup and I am not confident they are going to make the necessary moves to take this offense to the next level.

Re: MLB 2022 - 11/08/22 12:46 AM

The only thing good about them getting swept (especially by the Asterisks) is hopefully it'll force management to make some much needed changes. This team was on fire in the beginning of the year (I believe started out 52-18) and when the calendar turned to July, just completely fell apart. They limped into the playoffs, came back against Cleveland, and then got embarrassed by Houston.

Re: MLB 2022 - 11/11/22 07:17 PM

Absolutely. I do not have much faith that they will change much, but they must if they want to start winning some championships. They also have a few top young prospects who can help next year. Why not speed their development up so they can contribute right away? Volpe finished this season in AAA and their first round pick came out of a top college so he should move up quickly. Their big international signee Dominguez showed a lot of promise at AA as well and there is more hype around him than anybody.

Re: MLB 2022 - 11/14/22 12:07 AM

You can't rush the prospects. This isn't the Core Four who came into the majors and delivered immediately. These kids nowadays don't deliver upon when requested, need to be coddled and not have "their confidence shaken." Forget all of that. They're too fragile to play in New York if that's their MO.

Re: MLB 2022 - 11/18/22 02:10 AM

Heck of a year for Judge and glad the voters didn't rob him of a MVP like they did Jeter back in 2006 (we know the voters hate giving awards to Yankee players).

Re: MLB 2022 - 01/19/23 03:42 PM

What do you think of the Yankees moves? I think the lineup still needs work but I am excited about our pitching.

Re: MLB 2022 - 01/20/23 01:30 AM

Honestly, they need to get Bauer. I don't care what the PR is, he's a former Cy Young winner who's been on the shelf the last year and a half with a huge chip on his shoulder, who can be had at the Major League minimum. SIGN HIM! Honestly, this is very much the same team that got swept in the ALCS. They had to resign Judge, Montas is going to be out a month now with shoulder inflammation (which is what he had when he came over from Oakland), we'll see if Rondon can pitch in the Bronx, and I'm unsure who'll play left field (not to mention the bullpen). They have a championship team like they did last year but they've gotta put it all together on the field when it counts the most and that's October.
Posted By: Revis_Knicks

Re: MLB 2022 - 02/19/23 02:22 AM

With Montas being out now I think they should sign Bauer too. Still need a left fielder and a third baseman but maybe one of the young prospects will fill those needs. If they cannot then I believe our lineup needs some major upgrades.

Re: MLB 2022 - 02/19/23 11:40 PM

Don't forget Cortes is going to miss a month too with a Grade 2 strain. 2 pitchers out and it's still the offseason. But I agree, sign Bauer!
