NBA 2013-2014

NBA 2013-2014 - 11/11/13 08:17 PM

Since I don't see a topic for this year's basketball season yet, let's get one going. Below you'll see an image of what the New York Knicks will be wearing on Christmas Day in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is absolutely HIDEOUS! It looks more like a volleyball than a basketball jersey. Another reason I can't wait for David Stern to leave the Commissioner's office.

First off, just why? Why do the Knicks need this jersey? So the NBA can sell more and make more money regardless of how disgusting it looks? Secondly, what happened to tradition? That's one thing that has sorely taken a hit during Stern's tenor as Commissioner. There's no tradition to the game anymore hardly unless your name is the Los Angeles Lakers or the Boston Celtics (and even they have alternative uniforms). Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely against alternative uniforms. The Bulls had them back when Jordan was playing with their road jerseys going from red to black and I liked them. But some of the crap now is just ridiculous. Sometimes, less is more!

I hope this doesn't go through. I think this is just a panic move by the Knicks because Tyson Chandler went down. Don't give up on Shumpert!

Not sure if I'm sold on this deal yet either. The Knicks are proposing to trade Iman Shumpert and Amar'e Stoudemire for Rajon Rondo. I'm not 100% sold on Rondo because I know he can be a diva. He's an upgrade over Felton, sure, but I'm still a Felton fan and feel the Knicks need help in other areas as opposed to point guard. However, it would be nice to get out from under Stoudemire's contract, but the Celtics would want the Knicks to take on Gerald Wallace's contract which is 1 year longer than Stoudemire's so they may be better off sticking with him for now.

I think the Kniocks would be nuts to pass on Rondo. He's an explosive talent that makes his teammates better. He's as fierce a competitor as there is in the NBA too. I'm surprised that Boston isn't seeking more in the trade as they are trying to make preparations to rebuild.
