The NBA starts in two days, but we probably won't draft before then. I chose "points" over "head to head" so we don't have to worry about playing every day.

Some questions about the league settings...

Code:
Field Goals Attempted (FGA)      -0.50
Field Goals Made (FGM)		  1.0

Free Throws Attempted (FTA)      -0.50
Free Throws Made (FTM)		  1.0

3-point Shots Attempted (3PTA)   -0.50
3-point Shots Made (3PTM)	  2.0

Points Scored (PTS)		  1.0
Total Rebounds (REB)		  1.5
Assists (AST)			  2.0
Steals (ST)			  3.0
Blocked Shots (BLK)		  3.0
Turnovers (TO)	     	         -2.0


So this means you get +.5 pts for making a field goal or free throw, and -.5 pts for missing it? Is this just a bonus added to PTS, so each point made is actually +1.5 and each miss is -.5 ?

And, +1.5 pts (+2 - .5) for making a three-pointer + the 3 points = 4.5 pts?

Should REB and AST be worth the same?

I only made a few minor adjustments to the default.

If you make a 2pt FG, you'll get 2.5 pts for making it and -.5 for missing.

A 3 pointer is 4.5pts for making it, -.5 for missing it..

I'm gonna change the FT so you get 1 point for making it, and -.5 for missing.

The other stats are the default. I can change them too if desired.

Since I don't think you can set an actual date for an auto-draft, I'll set it to "Ready" tomorrow, unless you need more time. The draft usually occurs shortly after that.

Meanwhile, we could still use a couple more teams. Where's TM? I thought he was playing.

Any scoring change suggestions, let me know.

We're up to 5 people now, so we're good to go. If anyone else wants to join, feel free to before the draft status switches to ready tomorrow.

Also, I was looking in the Yahoo forums, and most leagues use a simple formula for scoring which might make things easier. Below is a common league setting. If anyone want it to go back to advance scoring with fractions, etc, let me know before tomorrow.

After looking at more league settings, I used the one I feel is best. It adds some consequences for missed shots, and I feel it's pretty balanced. We have 7 teams which I think will work well. Draft will be set to "Ready" this afternoon so we don't miss too many games this year.

Welcome Yogi. 8 teams in. Make sure everyone has their rankings set. The draft status will be set to "Ready" shortly. Then the draft usually takes place within 24 hours.

I'm not sure. There's a setting that says: "retroactive update (all updates include stats dating back to opening day). 14 Days Post Draft", but I'm not sure why it would be Post Draft and not Pre Draft.

My pre-draft rankings worked out pretty well. My first 10 picks have been pretty good producers (esp. Blake Griffin in the 9th round).

DB ran away with this. Had I paid closer attention from the beginning (as opposed to forgetting about the game) I probably still wouldn't have beaten him -- and I ended the season with all games played (DB and I were the only ones).

My triumvirate of D-Wade, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love carried me the entire year. I was just hoping to beat the second place finisher by 3,000 points and I came up short. wink
