Life of a Mobster - 07/10/14 09:21 PM

Hello! I introduced myself about a year ago when I was designing this game. I just thought I'd pop in and let you all know that it released today. Thanks for those that contacted me privately and offered me some excellent ideas.

Lucid is far too humble for his own good. Although I haven't yet played it myself as I don't want it to influence ongoing development of my own gangster-related Choice Game in any way, initial comments and ratings for Life of a Mobster have in fact been virtually unanimous in their high praise. For just $2.99, you can decide for yourself!

Is there a guy who plays a shill in this game? Is his name gangster-fiction.

Not that I'm aware of, but it's possible there's an ignorant lout who uses words he doesn't properly understand the actual meaning of, under the mistaken impression that it's vaguely amusing? Yep, good possibility.

People use shills for a lot of reasons.

Even shit like this for example a very small time jerk off owns a hot dog stand in an out of the way place. He is not selling any hot dogs because he uses east river water to cook them. Then he gets his out of work friend to come down to his out door stand. That person makes out he is going to buy a hot dog.

Then finally I another guy see's it and decides he wants to actually buy
A hot dog. Then he is amazed this is the best hot dog he has ever had in his whole life. The secret is the dirty east river water.

Someone else sees two people waiting to get another hot dog. Then that person try's a hot dog, and thinks holy shit this is the best thing since bullets.

By the next day through word of mouth their is a mob of people at his stand buying his east river hotdogs.

Now he does not need his friend to be his shill any more.

The hot dog owner his happy. He is finally making some real money for the first time in his life. He doesn't have to live with mommy and daddy any more.

So now he opens up another hot dog stand and hires an employee. Maybe the shill that helped him.

Then he opens 20 stands.

Then he opens a franchise operation called East River Hotdogs. Later they spring up all over America, south America and Europe.

Now the owner has 5 mansions all over the World. He owns his own jet, has a load of high end pussy, and he lives happily ever after all because of a shill and east river dirty water.

the end

On using words you don't understand

On the bottom of your post to me you wrote

"vendetta:rise of a gangster"

You have a vendetta and you rise as a ganster because of it? That makes no fucking sense. Unless your name is Mario Vendetta.

Thank you for the entertaining tale about the hot dog entrepreneur. At least in that instance you used 'shill' correctly, being one whom pretends no connection to the product offered or to the person selling it.

I, however, made my connection abundantly clear - I am a rival author, also writing a gang-related 'interactive novel' (indeed, there's an old thread about it in this section of the forum, which is why I posted here). But, because these things do cost money - probably about the same as a hot dog, come to think of it - I felt that some people around here might appreciate knowing that Lucid's novel has at least been well received & highly rated elsewhere, before they decide whether or not to try it for themselves.

That may make me a lot of things, but a shill is not one of them. If you must insult me for passing along helpful info, at least try to be accurate about it!

I don't know, but i thought this was a great funny and entertaining thread!

Footreads, I love the ending to your story, "Now the owner has 5 mansions all over the World. He owns his own jet, has a load of high end pussy, and he lives happily ever after all because of a shill and east river dirty water.

the end"

Priceless Footreads, priceless!

If you make a video game on that hotdog vendor I want 5 percent of each video app sold.

On insulting you. You know what they say "sticks and stones can break your bones, but names will never harm you"

Never crossed your mind that maybe you insulted me?

But evidently I started it.

Well any way have a nice day.

There is a soccer app called Hesk stat. The guy who invented it started to post on it on a soccer site that I am on, and donate money to.

I suggested to him if he wants us to try it, and take him seriously. He should advertise his app on our soccer site.

He has been paying the site owner for at least two years now to advertise on his site.

I would suggest to you and the other guy to do the same. After all you are using this site right now to promote your apps and make money.

So pay money to this site owner so everyone can make a little money

I also loved the hot dog story, by the way.

Actually, I came here last November because I was looking for ideas and I figured a bunch of mob aficionados, like myself, would be the ones to talk to. I got some help, and I appreciated it. I came back to say thanks and show you guys what I made.

It certainly seems on topic and I figured that some of you might like it. I read the FAQ and I haven't spammed the boards. If I overstepped any lines and Don Geoff feels that this thread should be removed, I won't be offended and I won't post it again.

Gangster_Fiction is also writing a mob story, although his takes place in the 20s and mine is present day. I appreciate his kind words. And no, he isn't a shill. Like he said, if anything, we're competitors. But there's more than enough room for two mob games, so he was classy enough to give me his support.

This is a wonderful site filled with interesting people. I meant no offense by sharing my game with you all. It's not a big money maker, compared to the time spent to create it. It was a labour of love, but I enjoyed making it.
