the importance of sil - 04/16/20 08:43 PM

the more i watch the sopranos i get to the conclusion that sil was the main guy (in terms of how important he is to the show both in our view and in the crime family function)
we can see at season 4 when pauly went to prison and he was missing a few episodes things went fine without him in the show
and when chrissy went to rehab or in season 6 (part 2) when he barley came to the bing things went fine
but when sil got shot ( ik that it was after the war and the all ''environment'' let's call it that way has tremendously changed) still
we can sense that thing are not the same without him
he is the most loyal person in the show
the smartest (in the mob i mean, cause hesh or melfi are little bit above him, although i'm not too sure cause sill is not talking a lot so maybe he keeps things inside wink )
he truly care about carmela when tony was shot
without sill the show would never survive at all, he was the best character.
btw can you guys please review this both in terms of my writing (as you know i'm not from an english speaking country, and in terms of the stuff i wrote here whether you agree or not ?)

Silvio was definitely Tony's greatest asset. He was unquestionably loyal, a great earner, and when he gave Tony advice,it was always based on what was best for the Family, not on what he thought Tony wanted to hear.

Assuming that he recovered, he would have been a great choice to take over as Boss if something happened to Tony.

The other Families would have respected him and supported the move. I know that he wound up in the hospital from stress when he was Acting Boss, but I think that it was more from not having the final decision making power. As official Boss he might have been more decisive, putting his foot down before things got out of hand.

Paulie was the other major player, and as we saw,he was not trustworthy. When he tried to get in good with Johnny Sac and Carmine,he basically hinted that he would be open to "changes" in the Family, and I don't doubt for a minute that he personally would have hit Tony if he felt that the Luppertazzis could get the rest of the Commission to OK it.

Sil was much more stable and low profile than Paulie.

By the way, your English is fine. I had no trouble understanding the points you were making.

I know there's always room for improvement, but don't sell yourself short.

Your English, sounds and reads great!

Sil Dante was awesome during the whole Christopher Columbus situation, as well.

the more i watch the show the more i realise it...
the moment sil was at the hospital for me it wasn't the same anymore
tony is not the same without him (and i'm not taking only about the decisions and stuff like that)
you can see how much sil loves tony and kinda complete him
but also paulie was great and funny character too
the relationship between tony and chris was great too
just shows how amazing that show is ! david chase did a wonderful job with the characters !

Lillyhammer is an amazing show. it's one of the best Mob dramas I've seen in quite a while.
Van Zandt really brings it,and it's nice to see him in his own series.
It's perfect for quarantine binge-watching.
