When Vito offered tony $200,000 to buy his way back in why didn’t tony accept it and then kill him? He’d get an easy 200 k.

I know tony kinda didn’t want to and his greed wanted the cash flow from Atlantic City but still, a quick $200,000 and get rid of all the problems with him...

I think that coulda looked bad for him.

He would have had to play into the Vito returning b.s. for some time to get the cash and some may have not been cool with that.

Also, he may have thought about it since not being sure of the timeline , there was a scene when Tony was taking Silvio’s tempature ( feeling him out) when discussing Vito Faggala and playing it down a bit.
