Is Raymond Curto the only person in his crew? If he is, whats the point of him being a captain?

He had many members in his crew, they were just not shown as much as others.

Nicky's got a point, i can't remember seeing any members of Rays crew. Do you remember any specific scenes when their shown?

It's left really unspoken but from what I can gather he was the only member of his crew from 1960 til he died. I's never elaborated on but everyone's crew is very small if not non-existent. Ray Curto-solo : Jimmy Altieri-only had Carlo Gervasi : Larry Barese only had his nephew Alley Boy and Rusty Irish as an associate. Juniors crew along with Tony's each had about a dozen guys give or take but other than that the family was pretty small

I agree with most you said but I've heard people say that Larry Barese had the biggest crew they just never showed anyone except few.

Nicky to answer the original question the point of Ray being a captain is old man DiMeo made him a captain when he expanded the family in 1960. He got crew in 1960 for being an earner despite being the only ever member of his crew so they indicate. Same thing with Larry Boy, again when the DiMeo family was expanding in the 80s. They were adding crews and at the time the top earners were Larry Barese with garbage hauling and Jimmy Altieri with prostitution, who each received their own crews. However Larry Boy's only member is his nephew Albert and only associate is his top earner, drug dealer Rusty Irish.

Here's a link with full details on the Barese Crew and all other crews as well

I think you guys are reading stuff into the show. Obviously, using logic we know a crew is not a crew when there is only guy in it! The show only showed the characters that were apart of the story, but that doesn't mean they didnt exist before hand! Patsy Parisi wasnt in the first 2 seasons, but does that mean he didnt exist before season 3? Same thing with Ralph Cifarreto, we didnt know he was in Richies crew until season three but does that mean he wasnt there?

Curtos crew had more than him, the writers just never thought to bring any of them into the story.

Exacty. Ray had to have more than himself in his crew, I think Chase decided not to overcrowd the show by introducing all the family members instead focusing on a select bunch of characters. You never get to see Rays crew commiting any crimes mostly because he was a minor character it's laughable to think that old man was out on the streets committing enough crime himself to make it a crew imo. Nicky you're right Larry was supposed to have the biggest crew you shouldn't go by that unsourced wiki link that was posted.

I agree Caramal. Not everything that was going on in T's life was subject to the show just like not every made guy and associate was in the show. An example of this is when Ray Curto tells the feds his wire had Tony talking about the "angelo giacalone murder". Who is Angelo Giacalone? A guy we didnt see dealt with in the show, but at some point he got wacked and Tony knew about it.
It was implied in the writing that other stuff was going on.

Raymond Curto was not the only member of his crew, as others pointed out, chase did not want to over crowd the story with other members of the crews. We don't see these members but we do hear about them through other characters like Paulie, Junior, and Silvio to name a few.
