WOuld Christopher still been made without Tony?

WOuld Christopher still been made without Tony? - 02/28/13 02:36 AM

I pose this question, would Christopher still have been made without being Tony's so called cousin? Lets not forget that Chrissy was always a good earner, remember in season one unlcle Junior responded to Toney saying "That multisonti kid is a good earner he now works for me" and also when Ritchie Aprile chastised him for laying hands on his niece Adriana, he looked to Tony and Said good kid. So I say this to state, say what u won't about Chris, but he was a good earner and was trusted to carry out key hits and trusted to dispose of kay body parts (IE: Ritchie and Ralphie) So do u guys think he would have been made without being so called Tony's cousin or nephew( or what ever the fuck you want to call it?) or just another wack job murdered like his buddy Brendob Filon?

No. Considering he was a drug addict, and the stupid shit he did, he would've been whacked if he had no relation to Tony.

Being an addict is one violation.

Shooting innocents is another violation, and he shot the kid in the foot in the bakery shop. They would've had a sit-down over that alone and he would've been put on a hit list.

And at one point he actually admitted to Tony that he was better off ratting with Adriana. After she was dead and he and Tony got into one of their arguments. Again, something else that warranted him being whacked right there on the spot.

He did so much stupid shit, and made so many violations before even being made, it's hard to believe that he wouldn't of been clipped had he not been related to Tony.

If Chris wasn't related to Tony and he had kept up his good act - not using drugs and not abusing Adriana - I think he would have been straightened out eventually. If Chris wasn't Tony's nephew, he could have never dared disrespecting the boss the way he did and begging him to open the books in almost every episode up until Season 3.

Chris without the protection of Tony would have been whacked by Richie Aprile in Season 2.

He would've been whacked by Junior in season 1 if it wasn't for Tony. Junior wanted to hit both Filone and Moltisanti, but ultimately, and due to Tony being his "nephew", Junior opts to kill Filone and order a mock execution on Moltisanti as a warning.

I think Livia was actually the one who saved him from being whacked out by Junior. He had put up her storm windows for her one year....

Chris would have been dead long before he got made if not for Tony.He was a loose cannon,a junkie, and a hothead. Once he did get made,Tony continued to overlook a lot of things that would have resulted in a death sentence for any other soldier.

The family connection was all that kept Chris around. Remember early on when Tony basically told Chris that he was going to isolate himself from the Family business more and more, and that Chris would be the one passing along Tony's orders, with the eventual goal of Chris taking the reins?

For a relative, Tony could overlook just about anything except the drug addiction, which in the end is what got Chris killed.Tony finally realized that Chris would never get clean.
Tony knew that not only would Chris's work suffer, but he could still get popped on a drug charge and flip. The last straw was the look on Tony's face when he saw the baby carrier in the back seat after the wreck.

Chris finally went too far, even by Tony's standards.

No. Like everyone had posted above, he would have never been made and most likely would have been killed, Richie comes to mind in the second season, but there was also the incidents in the first season.

Without Tony, he would have bought it on the docks with the Russian Hitmen...

Christopher was a complete jerkoff... he needed to get his ass kicked repeatedly by a female police officer.. I would have sicked one of the bull dykes after him... however Ralphie was just a disgusting psychopath... the cop AND ralphie... fucking sick... it's a shame that young stripper with the kid couldn't give Ralphie a good swift kick in the ballsack with those stilettos and a good punch in the face to the cop pervert.

He should have been done when he laughed at brendons joke about Jackie aprile being chemo sabe, the one where Tony seizes Brendon and throws him out of the office and into a table of pork.

Without Tony's protection he probably would have been whacked along with Brendan for fucking about with Comley trucking.

He might have been whacked for the unsanctioned Emil "E-Mail" Kolar hit, not to mention the subsequent actions -- demanding to be made based on that hit and reburying the body when the FBI heat was on.

No way would Christopher have been anything if it wasn't for Tony. He was too reckless in the early seasons, and too much of a junkie in the later ones. I don't know if he would have been clipped along with Brendan (although it would be likely given that Tony basically saved his bacon from that situation; if he wasn't related would Tony have done that?), but he probably wouldn't have been given as many opportunities to get ahead.

There's a chance he might have become a made guy, but even if he did he would have never amounted to more than that.

Had he not put those storm windows in for Livia when he was younger, he would have been a goner.

Too many instances to recall when it would have been justified for Christopher to get whacked. I agree you can argue going back to the pilot episode.

But one of the first instances was Meadowlands, right after he found out Brendan was killed. He comes into the Bing screaming and it was just after the news came that Jackie Aprile Sr. died. Had the setting been in someone's house, where there were less "citizens," Tony would have whacked Christopher right then and there.

Fast forward to "Long Term Parking," I think it would have made for a more fascinating storyline twist if Christopher was whacked WITH Adrianna.

Re: WOuld Christopher still been made without Tony? - 08/23/14 12:36 AM

As I recall, the flashback scene in "The Ride" where Christopher tells Tony that Adriana is working for the government was actually filmed for "Long Term Parking."

Starting at 2:05 to 2:55, you see Tony get very angry and upset, and for a good reason. Christopher was much more chatty with Adriana about the business, and who knows what she picked up when he was abusing heroin. Whacking the two of them would have been a good story line, but I wonder what the blowback from the FBI would have been if both were disappeared at the same time.

And in Meadowlands, Christopher was completely insubordinate, openly questioning Tony's leadership (love Silvio's wince at 2:34).

I still find that odd that that particular scene was filmed in the front part of Bada Bing. Between Tony trying to read, and Pussy and Paulie playing cards, one would think that's more appropriate of the back office. The set for the back office existed at the time -- the opening scene of S1E2 "46 Long" was in the Bada Bing back office.
