He wasn't involved at any real level. He was just the simpleton who ran the bar,and if he hadn't been any good at that then Sil would have gotten rid of him surely?

He was also a good target for Tony's frustrations.Maybe that is the main reason they kept him around

Because, Yogi, Georgie was obviously a real annoyance to Tony.

Tony didn't kill people — Ralph being a possible exception — because he was "annoyed" by them. There was always a "good" reason. He had never planned to beat the shit out of Georgie those times. It just happened.

It was fun watching Tony beat the hell out of the bartender. Especially with the phone and ice bucket. They were great laughs for me.

I just watched an episode where Gergie brings a singing fish to the Bing and Tony recalls Big Pussy as a fish with its mouth moving as he talked. He got ticked off and beat the hell out of Gergie with the fish.lol

And he throws a shot glass at Gergie's face and beats him with a cash register tray.lol
