Murder? But Why?

Murder? But Why? - 12/02/08 07:36 PM

Anyone else believe that Tony had Hesh's girlfriend murdered in 6 pt 2? But why is the question.

Look at the way Tony looks when he's coming out of Hesh's house to drop off the balance of the money he owed. It's Tony's "what did I do?" look when he's guilty of something. The next look he gives is his one of his many looks of satisfaction.
So that Tony had Hesh's girlfriend murdered is pretty obvious to me. The only reason why that I can think of is to show Hesh that Tony can do anything he wants — be it paying him back money or having murdered anyone he wants.

Thats the clever writing of Chase he wants you to think this.. But theres not definative answer on wheather Tony killed Hesh.. Thats the genius of The Sopranos..

I didn't mean that Tony killed Hesh before coming out of Hesh's house. I meant he was looking that way because he killed Hesh's girlfriend. It never occurred to me that he killed Hesh, and I don't think he did. I DO believe he had Hesh's girlfriend killed.

You're reading WAAAAAY too much into that. Tony didn't have Hesh's girlfriend killed.

Tony really liked Hesh. Yes, he could have beat Hesh out of the $300K, just as one of Tony's guys suggested, but he didn't. He paid Hesh back in full because he liked him and respected him. That's why Tony had a look of satisfaction on his face - because he did the right thing and he knew it.

It wasn't words of fondness and respect that Tony was using about Hesh after he and Bobby stopped by to pick Hesh up and Hesh declined because he was SCARED Tony was going to kill him. In fact, Hesh expressed his fear of Tony killing him to his son-in-law Eli.

So if Hesh himself believed Tony was very capable of having him killed, is it not possible that Tony did actually do the next closest thing and murder Hesh's girlfriend?

If you go to the Sopranos HBO website, the episode recap says that she died of a stroke.

I do believe that the writers tried to make Tony look like a villain in season 6 part 2 - if anything, so that people would realize how awful gangsters are and would root for some sort of comeuppance. But I think the "villainization" here is the fear of being killed by Hesh and Tony's harsh behavior and crude remarks behind Hesh's back. Tony forgot about that Ojibwe saying - "Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while, a great wind carries me across the sky."

I don't believe he killed her.Again I agree with the people who relise the writers are playing on the audiences perceptions of Tonys character.I also believe that for those who felt that maybe it was him because hes capable of it,would also be less shocked when he kills Christopher.

I don't see how he would have gained access to her.

Not Tony specifically, but someone in his crew (while Hesh was using the head.)Or at least that's what I was saying in my original post. But as it has already been pointed out, Hesh's girlfriend died of a stroke, according to HBO. So that's that.

I dont believe that Tony or any of his crew had anything to do with her death, but rather, the implication being that Tony takes a perverse satisfaction in paying back the loan he believed Hesh had being anxious for.

I believe Hesh is insulted by Tony's presumption that the money would still be relevent or priority to him at a time like this (i.e - his girlfriends death) However, he wisely bites his tongue and quietly accepts.

Tony leaves, apologetic enough for her death, but still with an air of satisfaction, a sorta "there's your precious money" sorta thing.

Remember, where Hesh was becoming anxious over Tony's extending loan because he figured Tony could easily wipe the debt by killing him rather then just stiffing him and facing recourse, Tony, for his part, was becoming annoyed with what he interprets as Heshie's nagging persistance.

I wondered this myself! I even watched the episode a few times after eachother to figure it out, but I don't think Tony had access to the lady. Tony and Hesh were really angree with eachother, though.
