Few characters on TV are as obnoxious as Janice.

I used to absolutely hate Tony's mother to the point I'd turn over with scenes of her in. Now it's a different story, with repeated viewings of the series' I've understood her character more. She was a manipulative bitch, clever to watch and to this day I still can't work out if she was faking her amnesia.

Along with Janice and Tony's mother, I cannot stand Johnny Sack. Some of it is just raw emotion, but his character is just like Sonny Corleone's (IMO). He acts out of emotion instead of reason, and he thinks what he does is always the right thing to do. He would make a poor boss.

I hated Ralph. He was a mental case. a REAL mobster would not conduct himself like that. Tony did us all a favor rubbing him out.

Janice is the worst.

Closely followed by Carmela and Meadow. Such prissy argumentative bitches considering that their lifestyle is maintained by criminal means, of which they are often critical :rolleyes:

Most of the Soprano family were all very annoying but the characters I hated the most were Artie Bucco and Ralph Cifaretto.

My vote is split between AJ and Janice. AJ is a spoiled ungrateful little shit with serious attitude problems. The greatest scene ever was when Tony told AJ that Baccala is dead and AJ starts crying and Tony drags him out of bed and on the floor with AJ's nintendo cable around his legs. That was class.

Janice was a manipulative c*nt with no work ethic whatsoever. She lived off manipulating those around her to get her ways. Everything about her is annoying: Her taste of music, her hippie looks, the constant nagging and complaining, and finally her own inability to stay in a stable relationship without fucking it up.
She didn't exactly pick the right boyfriends either too (if you exclude Baccala). Ralph and Richie? Come on! Fuck her fake disabilities, too. Most annoying character ever.

Ralph was a true comedian with all those jokes on other made guys. I could not help but laugh a that prank call on Paulie's mother, but after he killed the stripper and Pie-O-My, I was glad Tony murdered him.

Another hated character was David Scatino. Remember Dave?

He blew Eric's college fund, lol. He was a real piece of shit, and blamed everyone but himself for his gambling addiction. He even tried to kill himself because of it. What a loser.

Johnny Sack-I hated this prick with his constant hardons for revenge. Nothing would have made me happier had they had a giant portable toilet dump shit on him and his tub of shit wife and daughter at her wedding.

Janice-This big fat baboon was useless. As much as I hated Richie Aprile, I would have enjoyed had he stuck a gun up her fat ass and pulled the trigger.

Artie- What an annoying piece of shit this guy was. Can you imagine eating at this asshole's restaurant and having him bug the shit out of you every two seconds with his attention deficit disorder hands and his constant verbal blowing of how great his shit food is? Go into the kitchen and cook the food you bald headed piece of shit.

Janice. She was poison. She definitely had some deep psychological issues, and, to some extent, she was like her mother.

The most hated character within the show, by the other characters, was most likely Ralph Cifaretto. It was apparent that the other members of the Soprano family didn't like him, but he was tolerated because he excelled at being an earner, and in the Mob, that's the main goal, earning money for the family. He made Tony a lot of money, even though Tony clearly hated the man. In the end, Tony killed him with his bare hands, and that was that for Ralph. Some memorable quotes about Ralph:

Tony: If Ralph was drowning, I'd throw him a cinder block.

Albert Barese: Ralph? I wouldn't piss on the guy if he was on fire.

There are several other memorable quotes about Ralph, but those two are the first that come to mind.

Artie Bucco character is a whiny, self-pitying that gets pushed around by his wife, who attempted suicide after being beaten by the French, (but thou hast a shotgun, use it, no), and that was saved from be whacked for beaten Benny Fazio, only by the remorse of Tony for him.
Christopher is a stupid drug addict whose only luck is to be a relative of Tony, this save him when Junior order to kill his friend Brendan Filone, and of being killed as a drug addict, screenwriter whipped in the end he dug his own grave only by continuing to take drugs and becoming unreliable.
Janice and Livia Soprano are two sociopathic, the mother threatened to kill her children if her husband had tried to transfers to Las Vegas, Janice not only had a son who lived on the street, but manipulated both the sons of Bobby Baccalieri, and the same Bobby for get married, when he was with Rictie Aprile egging him continually against Tony, but then kill him for giving her a punch.

The character I hated the most,by far,was Kevin Finnerty. I never got the point of the "coma dream" world in which he existed.
I know that Chase liked to leave some plot lines unresolved(the Russian,Furio and Finn's departures,Sil and Tony's eventual fates,etc.)and for the most part,that was a feature of the show that I liked.Real life is like that,not everything gets wrapped up in 60 minutes.
I just feel that on occasion,IMHO,Chase got a little full of himself and just threw stuff in because he could.

For the most part, everyone has listed main characters. I think the most hated character is someone only in one season, but did something low and I HATE her. Its Agent Deborah from season 4. She's a slimey rat who got Adrianna killed and lied to her the whole time and acting like her friend. Fuck her.

I always liked how David Chase made Carmela's mother every bit as annoying as the character the same actress in "Goodfellas."

Janice is a control freak and annoying, like her Mother. I like Richie though because he reminds me of some of he guys I know. But Ralphie is just annoying, he was only kept alive because he was a good earner.

Are you guys kidding? Richie was the best. The actor does an amazing job at playing a tough, just-outta-jail gangster with a hard-on for the world 24/7. His fashion sense... late 70s early 80s... same clothes he had before the can, almost everything he wore was like a size too small for him.
He's stuck in a time loop and has a massive sense of entitlement (he'd have been next as boss if Jackie was alive) not to mention he never backs down from Tony.

I found his death to be anti-climatic... but it was necessary to show what kind of sick "who-oar" Janice really was.

EDIT: Exactly. Richie also reminds me a lot of people I know. Plus his expressions and mannerisms, it doesn't get any funnier! Like when Paulie and Silvio visit him about the ramp or his attitude when the guys throw him a homecoming party.

I mentioned Proval in the Mean Streets thread over in the Movie section - incredible actor. Ritchie is almost a caricature it's so over the top but when you think about what the guy went through with standing up and serving his time, losing his brother, coming home to see Beansie having legit success and Tony profiting from his losses you gotta feel a little sorry for the guy. When I look at how Ritchie was depicted I think it was a conscious effort by Chase to make him a sympathetic character. I think it's the first time that he meets Tony at the mall he's wearing an old Members Only jacket and some polyester sansabelt slacks that have not been manufactured since 1979. Yeah, he's a psycho but he's often pushed to it. When he gives Tony the leather jacket it was a sincere gesture - a peace offering. Even though he says he's letting go of the past I think he still treasures the jacket and the memories of that period of his life. He still had potential. He still could have been Tony if things had gone differently. That's why when he brings Carmela the tripe (how many of the other guys, besides Paulie maybe, would be that considerate)and sees the maids husband wearing the jacket he's legitimately hurt. Nah, no way you can hate Ritchie.
The guy I CAN'T STAND looking at is Dr. Elliot Kupferberg. Maybe it's because Bogdanovich is a scumbag in real life but I hate the way this guy tried to pull Melfi's strings. Suggesting she's an alkie because she likes a pop or two during the day. Manipulating not just her but their mutual friends to confront Melfi at the dinner party. He's a medical Svengali (just like he was in Hollywood) who sees a weak willed person who he can take advantage of. He's basically a coward who tries to manipulate Melfi into dumping Tony as a patient and by extension manipulating Tony, something he'd never have the balls to do by himself - remember the parking lot scene. The guy is a real piece of ...

My favorite Richie line -- when Donnie K brought Matthew Bevilacqua and Sean Gismonte over for an introduction:

I loved the Richie character. Everything about him he took throphy's from his victims. I know someone who did that.

Short guys they were the small fish most got eaten by the big fish. Then a few found out as kids if the pick up a bat their no longer the little fish. Only problem with them is they always pick up the bat or the gun at a drop of a hat. So you have to make up your mind you can't deal with them like you would other people.

Controversial opinion, i say Christopher moltisanti, atleast later on in the show. Couldn’t stand how much of a dick he was to adriana and how he was a narcissistic asshole. Meadow is a close second tho. She reminded she sooo much of my sister.

Well there were a lot of bad people on the show but I'd say its Tony. I know many give him a pass because he is the main character but he was just a egotistical sociopath. Anybody he felt someone was happier than he was or busting his balls he had a pissy fit and either killed them or tried to make them feel bad.
