I heard on the radio today that season 5 won't begin until 2004 because Gandolfini is doing a comedy movie with Ben Affleck. Anyone else hear anything about it?

Yo, Snake.....if I wanted bad news I'd buy a newspaper. :p
I hope like hell it ain't true....Last year was a bitch waitin' for the new season to start.
That really sucks!!! I sure hope it's not true. But hey, they know we don't have a choice but to wait, so they can do what they want I guess. I'm disappointed!!
Sorry for the "wet blanket," SC & TIS...bummed me out, too. I suppose it could be a rumor, but the fact that others have apparently heard it also from various other sources dims my hopes. *Sigh* Well, by then season 4 will have been on DVD for about 6 months...long enough to whet our appetites....maybe.
I guess that's why they'll be playing all the episodes back-to-back, starting this coming February. So if they start from season 1 and go all the way to season 4, we're talking about 52 episodes, which means, 52 weeks. That's equivalent to 1 year. So it makes sense that they won't be airing season 5 till next year.
I went to IMDB.com and found out that James Gandolfini is indeed going to appear in a movie with Ben Affleck that's due to be released in 2004. The movie is called "Surviving Christmas" and the tagline is "A lonely guy rents himself a family for the holidays." It seems as if Affleck is the aforementioned lonely guy. Also in the movie is Christina Applegate of "Married with Children" fame.
It's not too bad considering that at the start of this season we thought there may not be a next season. If the actors want to go out and build movie careers we will have to put up with long breaks in between seasons. Either we have to wait or the series ends.
Do you guys remember how long we waited for seasn 3 and 4? They are just building p demand again, showing another one now would make it taste like eggplant when we could be haing veal in one year. Just like removing Scarface and building demand for it again. All for the demand. Remember how much publicity seasons 3 and 4 got when they returned? Would they get that agian if they just put another season a couple months or so after the last one?
