Mike and kay in GF3

Question . . . . did mike and kay actually get back together by the end of gf3?

And also . . .. this has been bothering me . . . what did mike do between GF2 and 3 to become so honored? I mean at the end of gf2 . . . he is just another gangster . . . a really powerful one. But still....at the beginning of GF3 . . . everyone wants to meet him, interview him. . . he is in the papers. What happened in the 60's and 70's?

IMO, no, they grew futher apart in GF3 because of Mary's death.
No one knows what happened between 2 and 3.All we know is that Tom Hagen misteriously died and Michael became legit (in the public eyes.) Just one of the many holes in GF3.
