Talia Shire too beautiful?

In a comment on the film, FFC says that first he resisted casting Talia Shire because she was !"too beautiful". The reason behind that: Any young man would like to marry a beautiful girl. But the idea was that the Carlo character would have to sacrifice something in order to marry a rich girl, and that is beauty.
But do you guys think that Talia was that beautiful in GF?
Somehow I liked her look best in GF3.

Forget about it.

She has (had) an attractive, almost beautiful, quality. She could even look sexy, and then sometimes look mousy. But she was definetly better looking than the description in the book.

I wouldn't necessarily say she's beautiful, but she's attractive looking.

Coppola probably said it in respect to his sister due to Connie's description in the novel.
