How did he die? And when?

Luciano, your question of "when" did Tessio die confuses me. Did you ever watch The Godfather?

As for how, we are never told. Unless that is, you consider Mark Winegardner's "GF Returns" a valid account of what took place. Personally I don't.

I asked this because in Part 2 when Frank Pentangeli is being asked if he ever served under the caporegime of Peter Clemenza, the poster of the corleone family in the background says that Sal Tessios "Deceased"

Like Part II and III, pirate copyed. Certain scenes are missed out.

Then istead of having people here fill in the missing gaps, I suggest that you either go and rent it, or buy a real version.

If those movies that you currently own are missing all of the parts that you say they are, then there is no way that you will ever fully comprehend what we are talking about here or what the movies are really about for that matter.

May I make a suggestion Luciano? Until you are able to get a real copy of the Trilogy, why don't you read the transcripts that our Don Malta has provided for us?

That pirated stuff sucks.

Can I suggest you watch it on tv the next time it comes on. Like DC said we don't know how he died. All we know he gets into a car for his last ride. Or go to a video store and rent you a copy of The Godfather.

Just as reading the book can serve to 'fill in some gaps' left by the movie...watching the original Godfather film in its entirety would probably do the same for it's sequels. And as DC states, it might be far more entertaining than just having the blanks filled in by asking questions here on the BB (or even reading the transcript). If there's stuff left out of pirated copy of GF, then there's probably stuff left out of II and III as well.

It's clear you have access to the internet. Go get yourself a legitimate video/DVD of all 3 films.

You should be able to find the answer to your question over in the GF Returns Thread.

Very briefly.....

Tessio is taken to a garage where Al Neri awaits him.

He is shot, and Neri forces a new character, Nick Geraci, a protege of Tessio's, to do the shooting, as a kind of a test of Geraci's loyalty.
