Godfather I and II out individually on Blu-ray

Paramount Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that the next two titles in their Sapphire Series Blu-ray releases will be individual releases of 'The Godfather: Sapphire Series' and 'The Godfather: Part II - Sapphire Series'. Originally only available as part of the 'The Godfather Collection: The Coppola Restoration', the discs will be identical to those original releases.

Both 'The Godfather' and 'The Godfather: Part II' Sapphire Series Blu-ray individual releases will be available on February 2nd.

I saw it advertised in my Target circular this past Sunday.

Blu-ray is definitely worth it.

I own the Trilogy boxed set with all the extras in Blu Ray. It's probably good that Paramount is letting out GF and II individually for those who don't want III and don't want the extras.

The Blu Ray versions aren't spectaculary better than the DVD versions, but they have been well restored, and are not as dark as the DVDs.

The price isn't bad. $19.99 at Amazon.

Does anyone know whether blu ray shows up better on HD screens?

Yes it does show up much better on HD.

Target has them for $19.99 as well, but you save $10 if you buy both GF and GF2.
