Winegardner forums... move 'em?

Just thinking about maybe moving them -- or not. Let's see what you think. And NO, "deleting them" isn't one of the options

Add the option of getting rid of them and I'll check that one.

I voted for combine, but I would not miss them if they disappeared. I have rarely posted there and haven't even looked there for a long time.

Ive never looked in the Revenge forum as ive not read the book and dont intend too.

I still want a write-in vote to delete them.

Not really...

"Combining" them is the worst option for me, because I'd have to rename every single post to start with [Returns] or [Revenge], and that'd be a mess.

I'm leaning more towards creating subforums I think...

Easiest thing to do Geoff, is just delete them.

If I delete them, someone might post about them in the GF forum. I think I'll just put them as subforums of GF4, perhaps renaming GF4 to something like sequels or something. This would've been good had they ever come out w/ that GF Comic Book (that I just remembered I paid for a year ago and haven't yet requested my money back!)

Why change them at all? This is a message board dedicated to the subject of "The Godfather". Like it or not, the Winegardner crap is a recent part of that subject. You're not adding any "legitimacy" to the books by having a separate forum for each.

I guess so... it was just a thought.

I voted for subforums under Godfather IV. Makes the most sense to me.

Once Upon A Time In America deserves it's own forum, Scarface does not need it's own forum, maybe a thread about it.

There are many movies you can love and appreciate more than Scarface, but very few are "iconic" enough to have their own section. (emphasis on "enough" because many are iconic but do not have the same following or cult status.) Scarface is one of those extremely iconic gangster movies, regardless of whether you like it or not.

Many times in the past it was suggested that "Goodfellas" should have its own section because of its status, popularity, being a pioneer as in paving the way for many more movies to follow, an overall "role model" for modern gangster movies. And I agree with that, because no other gangster movie since 1983's Scarface has made an impact as big as Goodfellas'. Again, it's not about whether it's the best of the lot, and I dont think it is, but if any other movie should have its own section in this forum, I'd be surprised if it wont be Goodfellas.

No question about Scarface tho, the movie deserves its own section, especially considering the fact that JG made a Scarface website to go along with it. At the end of the day, this is a forum built to accompany the Godfather/Scarface/Mario Puzo sites.

I'd tend to agree. If anything, I don't mind keeping the Winegardner sections, but Goodfellas definitely deserves its own section.

I'm not sure about anything else, though...Casino would probably be closest, and I don't think it would warrant a forum.

To be honest, I would rather see "Analyze This" and "Analyze That" as their own sections than the Weingardner ones. I looked forward to those books and didn't even finish the second one.

Geoff....give this to SC or PB and have them allow someone to make his/her bones by deleting them. If someone wants to bring up the next Winegardner issue it can be in general discussion.

I think I'll hide them as subforums under GF4 at this point
