Carlo's last phone call

I dont know if this has ever been addressed, but as i was watching the movie again for who knows how many times, does anybody have any ideas or suggestions who Carlo was calling when Mike, Neri, Rocco and Tom walked in before Carlos' last car ride?

Probably some bimbo.

I love the look on his face when the gang walked in.

His mistress that he was keeping in Westbury.

Actually, I do remember that in the novel, his mistress did live in Westbury.

Puzo was fascinated with Long Island, as was evident from the last chapter of THE FORTUNATE PILGRIM.

Like many first and second generation, New York City born, Italian-Americans back then, he correlated moving to the suburbs (especially Long Island and Westchester) to "making it."

With the "gentrification" that's taken place in Manhattan, it's all been reversed. With one bedrooms going for $5,000 a month, now "making it" means moving to Manhattan, not away from it.

If I remember correctly, he was calling the Emperor's Club, where he was known as "Client Number Eight."

Well, with the family discount, can you blame him?

Yeah, too bad the Emporer's Club wasn't run by Fredo. Maybe someone would have received some help!

Wednesday was two-for-one day at Fredo's. You'd get two cocktail waitresses for the price of one.

Then the Michael stare sorta of confirms trouble for Carlo.

Actually, when the madam looked at Spitzer's smaller piece she told him that he didn't need the $5k hooker.

He may have been making crank calls to members of the Corleone family. "Hello, Mrs. Clemenza? Is your refrigerator running?
