"Turnbull is a good man." - 04/25/07 01:05 PM
The previous thread on Geary raises a minor question I've always had.
When Geary brings up the licensing issue, Michael responds "Turnbull is a good man." It seems to be a non-sequitur, but Michael never says anything without a reason, so I'm sure he meant something by it.
Any guesses as to what?

I inferred that Turnbull (my namesake) was Geary's "bagman"--an intermediary between Geary and the people who offered him bribes to get Geary's political favors and buy his influence. When Michael said, "Turnbull's a good man," he probably meant, "I've been playing ball with you through your bagman."

Thanks, TB. Appropriate that you should respond to this.
I guess Michael was just indicating, in a roundabout way, that he had already taken care of the bribes via Turnbull, so there shouldn't be a problem with the license.
Interesting that Michael was so cryptic, considering that Geary had just told him how blunt he was going to be.
