Vincent - 12/25/02 03:41 PM

On the DVD Collection Andy Garcia says he's a combination of the three sons and the granddad (Vito).

But I only see the resemblance with Sonny (His dad). Andy Garcia says he's got the temperament of Sonny, the brains of Vito, the warmth (Don't know how to say that) of Fredo and the calculation (Don't know how to say that) of Michael.

I don't see the last three ones. Vincent smart, warm???

What do you guy's/girls think?

I agree with you, MM. I see Sonny in abundance, and very little (if anything) of Vito, Fredo and Michael.

He calculated well enough to make himself Michael's successor.

Yeah he's mostly Sonny for sure. He changed so rapidly from the beginning to the end though that I can see why he said he was like Michael as well because in the end he was more refined. But also I can sort of see the Vito tie-in too since when Vito started out he was nothing more then a rough steet thug who had to prove himself through aggressive violence etc. and that is what Vincent was like when he first came into the scene.

Vincent didn't have much calculating to do, Micheal gave him the "order" because there was no one else around, anywhere. I see Sonny in Vincent, and the only difference is that Sonny had a better teacher then Vincent and was smarter(fate notwithstanding Vincent was clearly going down the same road as well, or maybe did)then Vincent. As for the warmth factor... i see Fredo as stupid and selfish no "warmth" there, he's helpless, and clueless not "warm", Vincent could have gotten some of that. As for Micheal i saw no Micheal in Vincent, Vincent was stupid and reasonless for the most part, and it was very hard for him to let Mary go as his face suggest where as Micheal would have done it w/o even showing emotions. He maybe had a little Vito in him because he had "the Corleone courage" but then again, Vincent was stupid so somethings he did might have come out of his stupidity.

Vincent is his own character, 2D womanizer, i honestly couldn't see him with a family if he was in GFIV and if the movie did ever come out. We will have to wait and see, any of the qualities of the three come are made more conspicious in the 4th movie because i could in no way see them in the 3rd movie.

I just hope, no pray.. That GF IV is not going to be the Sopranos on film. One thing that GF has that is not present in the Sopranos is the romanticism about the mob lifestyle, I mean They romanticise it but their lives don't seem romantic... Granted in the GF3 it's not there as much since everything is getting more base and obviously violent but that would be really dissapointing.

I think if u look atn him compared to sonny, he acts a lot smarter/cooler.

I can't say smarter, because when you are a hot-head you can react in a stupid way what causes mistakes or wrong interpretations of the situation.

And yes he's cooler. He's more modern. Like Mike said: "... and you come to this party in that jacket..."
