The accusation is criminal conspiracy the purpose of trafficking and the smuggling of drugs
the raid

The Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri in Naples, in collaboration with the Spanish Guardia Civil, have performed last night an order for preventive detention, arresting 23 people in the 'hinterland north of Naples, in Spain and in various locations in Italy. They are accused of criminal conspiracy the purpose of trafficking and the smuggling of drugs, aggravated from having acted for objective of Camorra.

In the course of investigations coordinated by the Naples anti-Mafia Directorate, the police have discovered new strategies implemented by the heads of the Camorra clans Polverinos and Nuvolettas for the importation of cocaine and hashish from Morocco to Spain and then in Italy, with North African suppliers located in the Iberian peninsula and with a large group of Polish couriers.
Central figure of the drug trafficking between Spain and Marano, in the Neapolitan area, is the 34 year old North African Rachid Echemlali Rahmani, nicknamed "Armando"arrested yesterday evening by the Spanish Guardia Civil in Malaga, in collaboration with the police in Naples.

The drug trafficker was searched throughout Europe and, according to investigators, would also have links with Islamic fundamentalism. "Armando" was capable of moving huge quantities of drugs between Morocco and Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar.

Quick small boats amazing from the north of Morocco and then, near the Spanish coast, discharging into the sea the drug, packaged so as to resist the ingress of water. At this point, teams of divers traveled to the points reported by principals and take the drug that was brought ashore to be prepared for the trip to Italy.
Key figure of the transfer of drugs between Spain and Naples, however, was a Polish woman, Helena Zajac, who was arrested today by police in Marano.

She was the link between the couriers and the heads of clans of Polverinos Nuvolettas: When the call came organized itself in the movement of drugs recovered from Spanish waters.
In Italy, in fact, the drug reached by land, on board of passenger cars modified by mechanic in Marano complacent that deriving the "double bottom" in the body to hide the drugs.

Helena Zajac took care of the transfer of modified cars to courier, all Polish resident in Poland, who went to Spain to the load. There the drugs were hidden in cars, always guided by Polish carriers, arrived in the Neapolitan area along specific routes.

Once arrived in Marano, the drug was recovered and returned to Poland couriers, awaiting a new call of Zajac.

Among the 23 people arrested also included a mechanic that he worked on behalf of the clan "double bottoms" in the cars used by couriers to move drugs from Spain to Marano.
Others, according to what has been learned, would be investigated for the same reasons: the craftsmen made the "double bottom" in powerful cars, which include Skoda and Toyota, by changing the encapsulated rear bumper. The "pockets" to hide the drugs were also created in the engine compartment. Then, to allow the cars to adequately support the additional weight consists of the bulk drug, were also modified the car's suspension with stiffer shocks.

And 'gravely suspected of having links with international terrorism, particularly Al Qaeda, Rachid Echemlali Rahmani, the North African drug trafficker arrested by the Spanish Guardia Civil and police of Naples in Malaga, Spain.

According to the investigators determined whether, in fact, there would be documentary evidence that would tie him to at least one member of "Al Qaeda" who participated in the bombing of the subway in Madrid on 11 March 2004.

Rachid, the Moroccan Islamic faith, habitually resident in Spain and recipient of a European arrest warrant, in 2002 (when he still was not researched) was subjected to checks by the police which showed a driver's license made out to Spanish Abdlilah Fadual el el Akil, sentenced at first instance and then acquitted by the Spanish Supreme (Supreme Court) to the attack on the Madrid metro.
According to investigators, therefore, is conceivable the proximity of suppliers in Spain to Moroccan subjects close to Al Qaeda, with the huge profits from drug trafficking finance international terrorism.
The Moroccan traffickers - according to the findings by investigators - receive the most money flow right from the Neapolitan Camorra. Rachid, nicknamed "Armando", bought in Morocco drug traffickers and sold it to Naples for a fee four times the amount spent on each ton acquires bought: about 600 000 euros per 150 thousand of "investment". Each load transported by small boats made from the coast of Morocco to the Spanish was about five tons.

This is awful, Camorra causes a lot of damages in Italy and world but an alliance with Al Qaeda can have dire consequences..

This is no way helps italian OC one bit in anything they are doing. I always felt this is where italian OC was eventually gravitating towards, once the United States labels italian OC as a terrorist organization, you will see the end of anything organized in the US. Imagine the prison sentences on state terrorism charges, the organization will tumble like a house of cards in a wind storm.

Let's be honest, we shouldn't be surprised. The goal of OC everywhere is to make money and nothing else.

But I agree, if they get involved with terrorist groups, or groups with connection to terrorist groups they will be looking at long ass sentences when busted.

if you try hard enough, you can connect anybody to anything else. more fear mongering at work hear people. what is a terrorist anyways? i had a buddy that recently got back from afganistan and from what he tells me true terrorists(people that are dead set on killing americans fro no reason and because they hate our way of life)are few and far between. lots more people that hate the us because we cant leave people be and blow up thier families and blame it on the cost of war. Al Qaeda or whatever scraps are left of them might be indirectly linked to other criminal orgs through drug sales, but if they werent illegal there wouldnt be a problem in the first place. sorry for the rant, but i feel better smile

The Nuvolettaa and Polverinos haven't ties or worse an alliance with al Qaeda, only dealings with Rachid Echemlali Rahmani called Armando, which supports the sale of tons of cocaine for finance the jihad.
