Yep. Bought from a slaughter house (horse meat was on the market back then).

And it started to stink if I recall my Godfather lore correctly.

wasn't there some issue about whe real horse having a white spot on his head and the one in the bed not having one....or vice versa.

Yes. Harlan Lebo (p.139) says that the crew painted the white blaze on the forehead but it was partly obscured by the Karo "blood" used in the scene.

I've always wondered how the Horses head would have been place in the bed without Waltz waking etc. Would Waltz have been drugged somehow to stop him from waking..
