Accardo/Kumerow

With the Bosa’s thriving in the NFL, there are multiple articles every year about their Great Grandfather - Tony Accardo. The Bosa’s grandfather (and Joe Batters’ son-in-law), Ernie Kumerow, was a Union Leader/Big Shot. I can’t find much detail on him. Did Kumerow have legal issues? How long was his run in Union leadership? Is he still alive?
