Hells Angel Sonny Barger 1938-2022 - 06/30/22 01:09 PM

He has passed away from cancer. That was a lot of living in that 83 years.

Probably not many country music fans on here, but here's a song by legend Johnny Paycheck. Ride On Sonny, written and performed for the documentary Hells Angels Forever. This is the clip from the film.

Paycheck himself was court martialed and imprisoned for two years in the late 50s for assaulting an officer. I think the initial charge was attempted murder. In the 1980s he shot a guy in the head during am argument outside an Ohio tavern. He served just under two years in prison.

His best known song is Take This Job and Shove It, written by retired Outlaws MC member David Allan Coe.

Here's a tribute video to the defunct Dirty Dozen MC from Arizona. This is the club that patched over to the Hells Angels after Barger got out of prison in that state. I was told that many of them were the extras in the Charlie Sheen/Michael Madsen biker movie Beyond The Law.

There's an interview on YouTube of him that was made in bargers house in AZ, years ago.

It looks like The Hell's Angels made good money, that home looks expensive. I only watched the first minute, I will watch the rest later. Ztto is always a good interview, I hope Barger is too. He has to have great stories to tell.

Not to nit pick but some things in that article aren't quite accurate. He and his sister were raised by their father and I believe an aunt.

He was in prison under a I believe 10 to life sentence in the 70s. He was probably going to do close to life. After years of trying they got him out on a technicality from a previous case. I'd call 10 to life serious charges.

This is only argumentative, but they didn't really beat and stab their way through the crowd at altamont, the fight came to them due to their location. The guy they killed went to his car to get his gun before going to the stage and directly inserting himself into the action.

I like your site. Crazy fact, on that bombing/conspiracy case He did time for, he and Taco Bowman arrived at court one day and got out of the same car in front of everyone.

I live in AZ and have road Harley's for 25 years, it was common to see him out and about in cave Creek quite often, taking pictures, signing boobs, you know the deal. I had not seen him in the last 4 or 5 years and thought he was in rough shape.

He was good in Sons of Anarchy

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Valid points! Some things were about style, but I see how they come across as a bit brash and maybe even outright wrong. I will make some edits.

A long time between his death and this service. It's amazing how The Hell's Angles became so big world wide.

I expect plenty of HA from Europe and around the world will attend.

I think every chapter has to send some representatives.

With the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club being a worldwide force that has 467 chapters in 59 countries.

Every HA within in 500 miles is obligated to show up. It is going to he a party, you have HA across the Country and the world is showing up. With it being in Stockton, security falls on Bobby Angel, John's brother.
