The DeCavalcante Family when they were strongest

The traditional lineup of the DeCavalcante Family at the peak of their power and influence. I list approximately 99 members. But they were NOT all inducted or active at the same era. This is the membership spanning over roughly a 40-year period, from the late 1950s-early 1960s, through the 1990s timeframe.

Note: I am certain that they had at least several additional members who stayed unidentified through the years. I may have also missed a few.

There are of course other current names who have been active with this crew. But I did not list anyone from the last decade or so. These new guys are not the 'traditional' power base of this borgata. And I do not consider any of them "capable" as in years past.

Several of these men later migrated down to Florida where they also operated. This list included Sam DeCavalcante himself, as well as, Bobby Occhipinti, the Cocchiaro's, and a few others.

Note: what struck me while I was composing this list was the nearly even amount of members distributed between the New Jersey branch (45), and their New York branch (41). Although they are considered a "Jersey" Family per se, they had tremendous representation in the five-boroughs as well. And another (8) members or so in Connecticut.

They also had a crew based in Florida as well...

The fact that they once had a South Florida crew was already clearly stated in my post above.

If you peruse the list you'll see that aside from the more familiar names we all know were many mostly anonymous figures who flew under the LE radar for years.

I wonder what a realistic current membership 'count' for the DeCavalcante's is today?

I suspect it would amount to no more than 30 +/- members or so. But my estimate is not based on any solid evidence, only my personal opinion.

Does anybody else here have an opinion (or sold info) on them nowadays?

Maybe 30, but I would add of that 30 not all are active and are for the most part old and retired. This family is a family in name and reputation only. Very very small time now.
