Ndrangheta and Camorra in NYC or other US cities

Do the Ndrangheta and Camorra have a huge presence in american cities?
If they do, are they working with the 5 families ?
And, can a member of the camorra or ndrangheta can be a made man of one of the five families of new york, and be at the same time member of a ndrangheta or camorra group from Italy ?

There used to be a rule against being made in both Italy and America, but with American Mafia membership being in such a pitiful state, I'm willing to bet they'll make exceptions. I strongly believe that the future of LCN or Italian organized crime in general lays in mobsters from the motherland, I don't care what anyone says. They WILL be filling the void if Italian organized crime is to continue in this country, regardless of what the naysayers may tell you.

Do they have a place in meetings? And how do the made men from the nyc mafia act with a member of the camorra and ndrangheta from nyc? The rules? The sit down ?

I know Ndrangheta-connected figure Gregorio Gigliotti was said to have worked with Genovese figures. Genovese mobster Emilio Fusca is from Camorra territory in Naples, I wouldn't doubt it if he has some Camorra connections. Two Camorra figures from the Licciardi clan of the Camorra were busted in New Jersey. I think a lot goes on beneath the surface, and many mob guys get busted without their mob connections ever mentioned in the papers.

For what it’s worth I heard that the shooters in the Sal Scoppa hit were Camorra, and that they have a cooperative working, that’s the reason for the cell structure. Canadian authorities have no experience with it and it’s too difficult to police.

If it’s true, what a smart move by all of them.

Sicilians in New York are huge in construction , they are very very powerful and wealthy. They are mostly in contact with some Gambinos, Frank Cali was close to them. As i read somewhere, they are not made.

That map accounts for even smallest presences so you might not want to believe all it says (piromalli in Philadelphia was a one off)

The Siderno group has had and still have important connections in NYC where it had a presence since 1970s. With the sidernesi come a number of satellite clans, like the Aquino/Schirripa you see there). Currently ndrangheta surnames (which might or not mean ndrangheta full association) are in the Gambino family and also, as said above, for business with Genovese.

The strongest link remains through Canada and the sidernesi. In any case Camorra wise, these are very very very remote presences, that map considers Camorra presence when there is one person loosely associated with a clan or loosely from Campania, the Camorra clans don’t have the kind of structure that can “migrate”, it is always a one off venture as they tend to associate with others abroad

There is no network like Pizza Connection just loose associates or a cell of few people like Roberto Settineri in Florida.

Yes the Sicilians have a lot of interests in construction in the US. They make their money in Italy but launder it in the US. The Old bridge between Sicily and NYC.
