Has anybody heard of Albert or Joe Scalleat?

I'm curious on just how up to date you guys are on goodfellas who operated in Northeastern Pennsylvania?

There were two brothers in particular, Joe and Albert Scalleat, who were both inducted Mafia members and operated for many years under Russ Bufalino. Technically Joe was said to be with Angelo Bruno. But in essence both of them ran in tandem with Russ for years.

They lived very interesting lives, and enjoyed very successful underworld careers.

Is anyone familiar with them and their operations? Because I've got a treat in store for GBB.

I've heard of Joe Scalleat but thought he was part of the Philly Fam. At least according to Phil Leonetti. Said he was in Santo Idones crew. He was involved in the Alvin Feldman hit. Set him up. Lived in Hazelton PA at one time.

Both brothers lived in Hazelton with one being inducted into the Philly family and one in the NE Pa family. I believe Joseph had very strong political connections in Harrisburg in the 1970s, a bar named Lombardos if I remember correctly. Both were very influential in the Allentown/Lehigh Valley area with Bufalino soldier John Parenti, and Scalleat nephew Peter Belletier. One of them cannot remember which is passed away recently in Las Vegas owning I believe a pizza joint or restaurant. Hazelton and the Allentown/Lehigh Valley area are a good place to start research on them. Family connection, not involved family connection but a very distant relative I have heard these stories about.
