Confirmed by Gene Borello and Frankie Pasqua. Said when they were on the street he was the official Underboss. Borello was on the street until 14 and Pasqua until 17

Actually it was Joe Lefty who took a shine to Tommy after his father Anthony went to prison in the early 1980s. Muscarella took over the crew when Joe Lefty passed away in 1988, and he proposed Tommy Ficarotta for membership sometime in the late 1990s or early 2000s. He has operations in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Those dates you mention Lou, he was official capo, but did server as acting underboss even as Muscarella voice. Muscarella is still official Underboss of the family, but he is get old, and it wont be long before Ficarotta gets a shot at the number 2 spot in the family. He is well respected and is extremely capable.

What I'd like to know is where all this "current" information you guys are discussing comes from? Because I've never heard a peep about Ficarotta being up there. And Muscarella was many years ago already.

Re: Tommy Figgs - 02/09/21 01:36 PM

Not really current but yet it is if Tommy Figgs is the new official underboss. 2013-2014 Ernest Muscarella is rumored to be on a panel with Tommy Ficarotta taking over his crew. 2015 Ficarotta name is mentioned by Colombo and Gambino members as taking over operations in Brooklyn but not interfering with what those members or families have. His name is mentioned by Philadelphia members as one of the top guys in New York City. 2016-2017 Capos in Decavalcante and Boston families refer Ficarotta as messenger for the family Administration in the Genovese crime family, this is also around the time when Muscarella is said to have finally retire with Pete Red becoming Underboss and Michael Ragusa Consigliere. We know that Pete Red was Consigliere, Bellomo is Boss, Ragusa was streetboss, with many speculating that Daniel Leo, or Joe Denti Jr was underboss. In 2019, after Frank Cali was murdered, we learned more information from the Gambino investigation into the shooting of Frank Cali, we learned Michael Paradiso was acting Consigliere for almost two years before becoming it officially, Lorenzo Mannino is the underboss and became acting boss and underboss for the Gambino family as Frank Cali was acting boss, Cefalu became official boss after John Gambino died. LE wiretaps and bugs were all over the place after Frank Cali was killed, and picked up much information to where we found out there was a power play in the family and both sides let slip that Ernest Muscarella was indeed the underboss for the Genovese crime family, and Michael Ragusa is the Steetboss for the Genovese. I know someone will know for sure, but I believe this info came from a bug close to Giuseppe Gambino when he said it to a couple of soldiers who were promoted to capos visiting a Genovese spot in Manhattan to let the family know they were investigating Frank Cali shooting and that their family had made some changes, Andrew Campos also gave this information in a wiretap with either Vincent Fiore or Richard Martino.

NYMafia, I find your lack of Muscarella activity in the Genovese family disturbing considering it was big news and revelation of what the Five families administration make up was after Frank Cali was murdered. Extremely disturbing.

Disturbing? Extremely disturbing?? In what way? I'm asking specifically where the intel came from in regards to Figgy? Not generalized overarching information, but specifically in regards to this. Where was this retrieved from? Thats the only way to be able to discern whether or not it has any validity, am I correct here or what?

It had been mentioned years back that the Bronx based Ernie Muscarella (who's dad was a goodfella also) had risen to be a capo, and later served on a family panel. I do not believe that is still the case, but its face it, nobody is sending us memos are they? Lol

But Thomas (Figgy) Ficarotta (another guy who's dad was a goodfella) comes from Downtown NY. He was allegedly an active guy. But I'm pretty up on this stuff (as you well know), and I've never heard that before.

Of course anything could be true. So I'm not saying it's not. But I am very curious how you guys have this "inside" intel. It's a fair question no??

I believe Figgs is a major contractor in Manhattan which is where he gets his strength from

He is also a black belt in karate

Seems to be another big WS player / sleeper

I've never ever heard of Figgy being underboss. That's big news to me, but this guy is a major player in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Extremely thorough. Anyone heard anything more?
