What if the Rico Act of 1970 was never made. Do you guys believe the mob would still have as much influence as it did before?

Just look at Canada. I think there would be a lot more of old school retribution than there is today.
No Commission trial??
If so, the Commission remained in tact, then it should of been able to at least stay as powerful, or get even more powerful. If all the bosses never went away, who knows how rich they could have got?
Also, maybe Gotti doesn’t kill Castellano either.
Pentiti might of been the only way for LE to every get a conviction, if RICO, never existed.

Yes but I think it would of been less impenetrable because wise guys would usually flip at the fact that they would be facing 20-25 years to life and that’s what RICO did.
I don’t think it would be like the glory days of the mafia all over again but there wouldn’t be a huge dip in success for the american mob like we ended up seeing. Another problem was that the mob did not stay up to date with technology like the FBI did. Great question though. It is very interesting to think about what big players like Castellano would’ve ended up doing in the long run. He was interested in going legit. Maybe he would’ve had the chance to do so.
I agree, if they couldn’t convict for long periods of time, chances of someone becoming a pentito, more than likely never occurs.
