Targeted mob style murder in North Toronto - 09/17/19 03:42 PM
A man in his 70s known only so far as "Vito the carpenter" was shot in what police say was a targeted hit out front of an espresso bar at Dufferin and Glen Cairn in Toronto.
Full name of victim not yet released. He was a regular at the espresso bar.
Tony's Espresso Bar also catered a Doug Ford campaign rally last year

Still trying to figure it out .. I'm sure more news will start to trickle. If it turns out this isn't an organized crime linked slaying then I'll ask mods to remove.

The father of the murdered Mike Lapolla of Quebec, Vito, died March 28, 2011. Vito Lapolla was pugliese, having been born in the comune of Panni in Foggia.
Mike Lapolla was killed March 10, 2005, having predeceased his father by a little more than six years. Interestingly, Mike's older brothers -- Luigi and Bruno -- also predeceased their dad.
To see whether the recently killed Vito Lapolla is related to the Lapollas in Quebec, we may have to wait for a death notice to be published online by the funeral home where visitation is taking place. Lapolla is quite a common surname, though, in both Puglia and Basilicata.
