Organized Crime in Switzerland

Organized Crime in Switzerland - 10/18/18 03:47 PM

I thought it would be cool to start up a thread concerning the Swiss organized crime scene , since that country rarely gets much mention , especially once you take away the ( now not so applicable if I'm not mistaken ) issue of it being a haven for money laundering .

Here's a somewhat old yet pertinent article to kick things off : https://www.thelocal.ch/20170606/italian-mafia-drug-lord-arrested-in-geneva-pizza-restaurant

Besides the Ndrangheta , I think I've read that the usual suspect Balkan/Middle Eastern outfits ( Albanians , Serbs , Kurds , and Turks ) are active over there as well and I'll try to dig up a few articles concerning them . Indigenous organized crime groups seem to be completely nonexistent though .

Not true, of course exist "Indigenous" networks.

Famous are Lange Gasse, Zürich (redlight district) and his Kingpins

Ah it seems that I was mistaken then and thanks for correcting me .

Are the fellows mentioned above Yenish ? What sort of activities were they engaged in besides ( I assume ) prostitution ?

How strong are the Yenish within the Swiss underworld ? Also what are their main areas of profit making ?
