What if Jimmy Brown got hit with Paul

In John Jr’s book he mentions Jimmy brown telling Frankie DeCicco ‘that could have been me, I was supposed to ride with Paul.’

Whereby Frankie reassured him, ‘you would have been fine’. My understanding was whoever was in that car with Paul had to go’

Tommy Gambino usually rides with his uncle too. Suppose he got whacked too. What effect would this have had on Gotti, Frankie and Sammy taking over the family. Do u think everyone would have accepted it out of fear or would there have been turmoil/ civil war in your opinion?

I think the only reason decicco let john be boss in order to take the heat from the fbi and he figured gotti would probably be convicted within a year. Frank Deciccos death was a blessing to gotti otherwise he would of probably been dead or jail sooner

yaeh from i read read on here people say jimmy brown had little use for jr gotti and if he wasnt indicted (93) for that tommy sparrow murder he would have been the boss or threw his weight into whoever was gonna take jr gotti out wasnt it nick corrozo. sammy the bull also talked shit about jimmy brown in his book saying he was a wimp ect. brown was the only one to tell gotti sammy keeps trying to get in my garbage racket i dont want him here. thats when gotti went on his rant about if sammy wants to be a capo ill make him one everyone he does biz with we kill and he takes there stuff over. i dont think gotti would make the move if jimmy brown was there he was to well liked in there family. he was present as the spark steak house cause it was for a few capos to talk to neil dell.... son armond. it was a good set up.

I often wonder what happens to Gotti if DeCicco doesn't die.

That’s the problem, had he accepted the lift from Paul- u have to realise in heat of the moment the shooters might have pumped him without even realising who he was

According to Gravano, DeCicco came up in Jimmy Brown's crew. However, like Tonytough said, even if DeCicco had said not to hit Jimmy Brown, in the heat of the moment they still could have shot him.




Same here. Something that has the be mentioned is that if DeCicco didn't die, he would have been indicted on June 19, 1986 along with Gallo, Armone etc off the Castellano wiretap. While that doesn't necessarily mean he would be off to prison (Jimmy Brown and Joe Butch were acquitted) it's worth thinking about.

If Jimmy Brown had gotten hit with Big Paul, John Gotti would not have had an easy go at the meeting of the Capos, plus the Lucchese and the Genovese families would have moved against John Gotti faster without hardly any interference from a majority of the Gambino crime family.

Can't remember if it was Anastasia or Capeci(I don't feel like looking up the spelling but the Gangland author) that said in a documentary that Sammy and Frank's thinking of letting John be the boss was just in case there was a big fuss about the Big Paul hit. That they would've served Gotti up to the commission.

That would have been a smart thing to do although as Frankie found out, being his no.2 also made him a target

Also, does anyone know IF Gotti or Ange were ‘meeting’ with Paul. It appears to me Neil was relaying messages to Gotti and Ange to hand over the tapes. But I understand Neil was on his deathbed at this point and Paul was under indictment hence I doubt he was very active...
